NY's answer to Metal Blade? Nah, I don't think Megaforce quite lived up to their potential, even if they produced plenty of undisputed Heavy Metal milestones in their early indie years of 1983-1985. 1987ish they got bought up by Atlantic, became Megaforce Worldwide and from thereon they're a bit hit'n'miss. Some fairly solid familiars like TESTAMENT, OVERKILL and M.O.D./S.O.D. rubbed shoulders with more mainstream acts like FREHLEY'S COMET, KING'S X, PROPHET etc. They also continued to co-release ANTHRAX with Island Records up until the early 90's.

The lack of personal favourites involved and the fact that major label discogs are annoyingly difficult to follow, leaves me a tad uninspired to complete this list w/ the rest of their 80's output. When everything else's been done, who knows? Until then, here's a little list of those early classics:
