If Metal Blade defined the cutting edge of American Metal in the 80's, Noise can surely be considered their European counterpart. Just a quick glance at their early discography and you'll have the very definition of 80's "Euro-Metal" right there. With the succes of Helloween's "Keeper.."-albums their focus shifted slightly towards more melodic Speed/Power Metal and I guess it's this genre that most people associate them with today. Ironic, considering how they once were the only label that dared to take on the Mighty HELLHAMMER! For the ultimate account of the rise and fall of the label, The Corroseum recommends David E. Gehlke's book "Damn The Machine - The Story Of Noise Records", released in 2017.

This updated list now includes the first 200 releases by the label, after which very little should be of interest to the average Corroseum reader. Also added are the additonal 8 releases on the short-lived EMI Noise insignia, a not too fortunate co-operation with EMI between the years 1989-1991.
