I went and looked on Svanhill's list and it is still there after all these years :)

AFTERBIRTH - Who’s In There - Boom Shanka’88 EP 5 trax. This thing is soooo bad. so it must be the single you refer to Dan. I thin Jeff Brown has his single but he isn't on this forum, nor do I believe is he able to make vinyl rips anyway.

Actually I think I have it in one of my sale-boxes I bring to record fairs. I bought it a few years ago from a Swedish dealer since the cover looked pretty Metal. As I remember it the music was sloppy "fun-punk" and the humor intentional. I don't think it has been sold yet so I'm gonna check again if they really were "for real" and thus on-topic for my crapMetal collection.

So I looked around a bit to see if I could find vinyl, and all I could turn up was a GEMM seller who had a copy of 'We Are the Best' and was asking.... wait for it........ $120. How bout, no fucking way!

Shit to new wave!!

Kuster 1st 7": boring as hell
Kuster 6 7": GOOD!!! but not really pure metal I guess...
Kuster MLP: What the hell were they thinking?!
Kuster We Are The Best: Boring!

I don't really agree with calling Kuster crap metal. It's not really a metal band in my opinion. There's some clear punk, postpunk, new wave, ... influences in their sound.

No there's not. Of couse KUSTER can't be considered a "Metal" band by any stretch of the imagination, but Hard Rock Music was definitely what they were aiming for. If you spot any "wavey" sounds they were surely unintential.

(this coming from a Closet New Wave "specialist" )

I don't agree they were aiming for hard rock. I think the music's too weird for that. That's why I mentioned new wave, punk, ...
You should try to get in contact with those guys and do an interview, then we'll be sure!

As requested by Doomed Planet and DaN. Here's the first Red Machete single. It's not as bad as I remembered it. Judge for yourself :)
