High time for some more Incredibly Strange Metal: RAPTURE!

Here's a little gem in this luwly genre I recently acquired and been dying to share:

Apparently the product of a couple of eclectic musicians tied to some weird cult/church (Messianics I think..) who wanted to go "rockin' it out for the Lord". I'd describe the result as this wonderfully weird mix of Metal-era Plasmatics, Max and The Broadway Metal Choir, Lester Maddox and Killen (!)
Songs like "Never Go Back To Egypt" (this one really begs to be covered by some contemporary Doom band), "Private Eye Surveillance", "Slewfoot" and "Nehushtan" is actually really great stuff, weirdness aside. Enjoy!

Pretty weird stuff that's for sure. Female singer reminds me of Betsy Bitch at times, especially on track 6. Some of the tracks are really quite enjoyable!

Gave it a listen yesterday, I don't know what to make out of it, really. It sounds comical, dumb and serious at the same time. One style cannot describe the whole LP. Not terribly retarded to belong to the Worst of the Worst thread, more of an oddity I guess. Thanks for the upload in any case.

I finally unpack it and listened to it - 3 times today and I can say it's quite decent stuff. Not incredibly strange in any case, or I am that warped already. They're not DWARR. Or THE RESIDENTS. Side A is more consistent than flipside and actually pretty good. On 'Private Eye Surveillance', they remind me of Kraftwerk/ Ultravox, the later may be referred to opener as well. B1 and B4 are close to awful - ballads I simply don't like. I hear some BÖC, too and overall, they have perhaps tried to do what THE BRAIN SURGEONS had been doing not so long ago. Verdict: Quite good US HM/HR. Will return to it soon.
