PORFIRIA - an unknown thrash band from Lithuania. This is a live recording from 1991 with good sound quality. The zip file comes with a bunch of photos.

Can someone give a small description of Porfiria's style? Influences? Vocals? I've already downloaded too much these days, so i need to know if it's really worth a shot. And like some of you mentioned in another thread, ''eastern euro-thrash'' isn't exactly what you'd call guaranteed quality in metal.

It's more like death-thrash. The vocals are RAW, not gay. Don't know what to compare with actually... It's raw and dark but not as good as CRUX for instance. Some melodic guitar solos. Actually this might sound more south american than east european. I don't know. I guess it won't be the best band you've ever heard.ION BRITTON wrote:Can someone give a small description of Porfiria's style?

Cha,cha
They're good my friends and from the same city I live.As far as I remember I posted this one on Metal-Archives forum.PORFIRIA right now reformed and take rehearsals. Also,I must mention that this band started in 1987 under TILTAS monicker and recorded 8 songs(Sounded like primitive Iron Maiden clone). But these recordings are lost.Maybe one day I'll carch them.just in 1989 they turned into Thrash direction.
