Reaction - Joy Ride 7" EP

Post by sabbat666 »

Hey, my first upload for the board. This is one of my favorite 7"s from Japan. Reaction's Joy Ride 7" flexi EP from 1984. i decided to rip the tracks to my PC for you guys. i hope you enjoy it.
it was on the Japanese label ADK records which, except for this one 7", was a noise/punk label. also, despite being called "joy Ride" the song has nothing to do with cars. its pretty much about wanting to make love to some dream woman.
anyway, a lot more 7"s where this came from! i'll up some better pics later too. enjoy.

This indeed is essential 7". Much better than "Get My Way EP" if you ask me and I think "Lonesome Knight" sounds a lot more heavy and intense here than on "Insane" album.
Also I'm fascinated about the end of 70's and early 80's era of japanese metal scene.
It would be awsome to hear some 44magnum demos from the start of the 80's or something. :D

I have the Reaction demotape but am still searching for 44 magnum's! 44's actually didnt come on a tape but a 3 song flexi record limited to 200 copies in 1983. it was really used as a demo. mainly given to record stores, metal zines, radio stations etc.

Thanks for the feedback 8)

Yeah they didnt but you never know what shitty tapes from past bands are hiding.

Did you know Eizo Sakamoto had two bands before joining Anthem and at least the other one (Resonance) recorded a demo tape!

yeah i did know about that. wasnt one of them called Dante if im not mistaken?

ive seen the Resonance tape before. but it was way too expensive!

I have a demotape from a band called Media which featured a pre Reaction Junya Kato on vocals as well. it's a great tape. I'll be uploading it here eventually.

Damn, pre-reaction! Actually I think I've heard that name before but i didn't knew it had anything to do with Reaction. Well that sounds cool and is a part of the japanese metal history. :)

Oh I have a question, with my copy of the "Insane" lp on Danger Crue Label is a flexi 7" called "live" "Joy Ride/Lonesome Knight" live Nakano Sunplaza 7/29/86, do you know if all copies of the lp come with this single? the lp is dated 1985 but this single I guess is a year later, but also on the Danger Crue Label.

im pretty sure the flexi came with the 3rd pressing of the insane LP.

actually what i paid for the 44 magnum flexi is pretty good. it is valued at over 500 dollars on japanese record collecting charts. because it is so insanly rare. much like the Zadkiel flexi.
