Without warning they suddenly appear, these awkward, funny pieces of Steel that you weren't prepared for. The album in question might have been a solid & righteous release as a whole, but then this song appear that makes you go "WTF??!?!".. Examples?

I'll start with Brazilians KARISMA and their "Oriental Fucker". Musically a great NWOBM-sounding cut, but the title & lyrics are entertaining way beyond their othewise standard, basic HR/HM.. Very singalong party-tune imo..

I find "Feel free again" on Manilla Road's masterpiece Crystal Logic really "huh, wtf" not bad at all, but "hey baby" doesn't belong in an angst-ridden, doomy epic atmosphere...

That KARISMA LP is great!!!

And I agree about the MANILLA ROAD track. I find this one to be one of their weaker ones, if not the weakest, IMO.

Well, one recent example I have in mind is the KINKS cover on the first SEARCH LP, Cinta Buatan Malaysia. Most of the LP is great Heavy-Metal, and in the middle we have this cover, sung in local language. It's not like JUDAS PRIEST that make their covers sound like their own tracks.

how about stuff like Venom's Teacher's Pet, School Daze, etc. Does that count? tingies like VoiVod's Batman, Mortal Sin's Robbie Soles, Atrophy's Beer Bong, etc.?

At least Venom's cut was quite out of place on Black Metal - thought it was quite banalizing the whole effort ... Same goes for Schooldaze - principle is the same, though I got used to it.

Well, my beloved BATHORY wrote something hilarious (which was supposed to be serious) in the shameful "Destroyer of Worlds". The song is called "Ode" and in the end Quorthon sings the following:

At least the title "Video-Sunday" on IMPULSE (bul) "Gladiator" is one of the worst titles I've heard. I just hope the lyrics don't have any connection at all with the hangover scenario of eating chips and watching a rental movie on a gloomy sunday...

Pokolgep's "Tovabb" in the end of Totalis Metal....all is great heavy, hard rock until the shitty Tovabb song...where all suddenly start to be gay, the nasty distorted vocals, the strange phaser-distortion of the guitars, etc......I hate all of this song!! I dont have a clue why it is in that great album!?
