Akt - Demo 1985

Post by ION BRITTON »

An extremely cool demo from Akt which is actually the post-Act/Verdict band! Just listen to the blazing guitar riffs on the amazing "Battleslay"- simply one of the greatest moments in the history of swedish underground metal!

The first track is probably on the finest heavy metal songs I've ever heard!! Thanks! How was Act and Verdict?

I'm quite positive i don't have any material from Act or Verdict. I can't be 100% sure at this moment, but as far as i can remember this demo is the only thing i have from the band.

I have a 9-song demo from Act (last track cuts) and a 5-song demo from Verdict (plus a 3-song live demo from Verdict). Thats all the material I know of in existence. There was a rumor of a 3 song Act demo from '83 but I heard that it was actually only 3 tracks from the '84 demo that got mislabeled and distributed as a seperate release. I added Act to Metal Archives, and then I went to add Verdict and it was rejected for not having enough info (it said if I get more info "feel free to resubmit them")....so I did. Around a week later I typed out an extensive bio and submitted them (along with Akt), and this time they were both rejected within 2 minutes (the reason for both being "no need for 1234155626 submission from the same band", copied and pasted into both emails)...even though I was told I could submit Verdict again, and Akt was never fucking submitted in the first place!
However, Act/Akt have a different lineup then Verdict, and neither of the 3 played any of the same material as each other. Plus, Verdict was important in the bands history because later on the vocalist and guitarist would come together to form the singers solo project Peterson, which is also extremely good. Its clear that at first it was reviewed by a sensible moderator, and then the second time it was reviewed (i.e. looked at for 15 seconds before rejecting it, without taking time to read the info) by a certain individual moderator who is a complete cunt and rejects bands that he's never heard of because he decides that theyre not metal (it doesnt matter what they sound like, buts its not like he's heard them anyway...). From what Ive seen all the other moderators are cool and reasonable except this one...

Anyway, if you guys want the Act/Verdict stuff I can upload it. I can also upload Peterson and Zanity (other projects of the members). The bassist and drummer were also in Shylock (i know that demo has been posted here before, they also had a track on Metal Knights), before they got kicked out and Shylock turned to glam crap...

Yes, if you can do it, I'd really appreciate it!

I submitted Akt today, but it was rejected in a few minutes. Same was with crime, they were rejected. I asked why on the forum and the moderator Christkiller explained, that there's no proof that they actually recorded a demo and that I'd need a picture of demo's cover. Same with Akt I believe, 'cause for some reason I'm not getting any feedback mails. Well, Act were accepted without cover art (probably by some other moderator), so I wrote that down on a forum. We'll see what'll they come up with :)

It would be cool to hear some Act/Verdict demo material. Hope it's in the same league with Akt. Thanks in advance!

Yeah, christkiller is the mod I was talking about. I figure its ok to say now that other people have brought it up. I was thinking, I doubt he'd ever be on the corroseum, because that would require an interest in something other than 'tr00' black metal.

Christkiller has removed over 9000 points from me over the last 2 years, all for bullshit reasons. Ive even had other mods (Drowned!) who were on my side asking him if I could get my points back, but he refuses every time. Asshole...

Ill starting rar'ing/uploading stuff now, at least some of it will be up by tonight.

I have a list of Swedish metal bands that should be submitted, along with all the info pre-wirtten out...but I havent bothered to submit them because they'll just get blacklisted for not being metal (when they obviously are...) or for being re-submissions (when they arent...)

Ill post the stuff as the uploads finish.

I guess, it's friggin' time to establish similar database by us here or on associated site. People at EM are little worn out. The burden they carry has become to heavy for them. There's also a lot of weed in there and I am not counting so-bad-it's-good-bands. Our database should be 1980's-profiled and underground-profiled with more than a pinch of freedom.

That would be extremely interesting. If we (anyone from here) did do it Id gladly contribute as much info as I have (obviously not all at once, but, you know what I mean...hahaha)

I've toyed w/ that idea, but the workload..? Scary
Isn't there some sort of Metal-Wikipedia around? That whole framework would be ideal.
