...the "official Corroseum-rip" of sorts... for perishinflames and anyone else who knows to appreciate this Hard Rockin' Heavy Metal masterpiece!

Image

Edit: Wait, this rip turned out fucking awful.. Needs a re-shoot I'm afraid. Stay tuned...

Edit #2: Link removed

I saw this and shat my pants.

Then saw the edit and was a little bummed.

But I know you'll come through!

(if you could send me the raw wav files I can see what I can do, I've gotten quite handy with Izotope RX Advanced)

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade here, but there are decent quality rips online already, on different blogs. Saves you the hassle of digitizing something which has already been digitized.

I have downloaded this from tons of different places, and all of them were rips from the CD, which sounds (in my opinion) pretty bad. I guess quality is a very subjective thing.

If I had the resources to obtain an original I certainly would (and intend to), but until then I'd like a great rip. And some of Dan's past transfers have sounded quite good, so I appreciate his efforts.

Shit, this reminds me that I was supposed to check my bootleg CD of this to compare to your copy regarding the sound quality. I can't remember the exact details, but I did get around to listening to mine again and remember certain parts of the disc where sound would only come through one speaker for a couple of seconds and then go back to normal. Is this part of the "bad quality" that you were referring to?

Yes, exactly. I purchased that CD as well, so I know for fact that every rip I've downloaded has the exact same flaws, in the exact same places. Although I haven't heard the original LP, I'm fairly certain that these are transfer artifacts and not in the master. That plus the terrible inner groove distortion really detract from the listening experience (but I listen at least once a week regardless, this is an absolutely perfect album to me, on a scale of 1-10 its a 38 :P )

OK, I've been out of town for a few days but now a proper rip has been added to the OP.

[Tech note: This album comes with these really screechy guitars that will sound like shit if you try to use any clicks&pops filter on them, so this time I didn't. It's practically mint anyway, so..]

Thank you!

Now I feel kind of guilty the only thing I've been able to contribute here was Metal Duck

Will have to see if I can't dig something else up.

Didn't have any money when this went cheap on eBay a while ago. Really it has a few cool tracks and a great cover, plus it's strong considering the year of release, but it's not THAT special, a bit 'overrated'... When I was thinking of bidding on it I wasn't sure whether I'd keep it or trade it if I won.
