VARIOUS - Jukebox Of The Gods

Post by bigfootkit »

I thought this might be of interest to those of you interested in a little Metallic archeology. It's a compilation i put together recently for my blog featuring the original versions of songs covered by the original gods of Heavy Metal.
Special kudos to Judas Priest are due i feel for their radical rearrangements of "Diamonds & Rust" and "Green Manalishi", both very clever and oh so effective.
Enjoy.

Good one. The originals are better on quite a few of these (Montrose, ZZ Top, Arthur Brown, Nektar and the Sweet) so well worth a listen if you haven't heard them before. I'll dl it to listen to at work, so thank you.
I know I ain't doing much,
doing nothing means a lot to me.

As i was putting this comp together there was a lot of posting on the same subject in the cover versions thread on "Into Battle", so i thought i'd throw it up here for the benefit of anyone looking to hear some of the songs discussed.
Hope you enjoy it.

Cool comp! I did a similar thing a while back for a friend, except it was a 2CD set with the cover versions on one disc and the originals on the other. I don’t even remember what was on it now, but I think the only one in common with yours was Diamonds & Rust.
