Never heard of Cross before and the description is surely interesting... Zion's abyss are very good indeed.

theanks, THE CROSS is how my copy of the demo is labeled, good christian metal. My dub of the tape is horrible, I rarely have listened to it because of the bad sound, cool this is getting an official release.

i had it on a good quality, fortunately,do you have the original demo ,with the cross logo cover?you will find great quality sound on our release since the band had the master tapes. We also suceed to increase the quality sound on their live tracks because there was an awful quality,a very low sounding live and more...Yes,CROSS is a fantastic band, there were so many great bands in the christian metal scene of the 80"s,and i am not talking for the well known bands!!

I bought both Lps yesterday. No more comments for Zion's Abyss, the band is well known in the underground circles, excellent and very skillful, great tracks etc.

Cross were musically very interesting, US metal with an epic touch and strong vocals, really good stuff. Favorite track: the long and atmospheric Final Journey.

A few more things though:

1) The sound quality of the Cross LP is not what i expected. I don't know how fucked up the sound was on the master tape, but the sound on the LP is very close to that of a medium-badget demo recording. At some points the instruments make a very noisy sound result, especially guitar and drums. The sound quality of the three live tracks is way below average, i couldn't hear them more than once.

2) The front drawing of Zion's Abyss is horrible. Very ''computerized'' and modern attitude, didn't like it at all. A black logo on a white backround would be much much better imo. The drawing on Cross was so-so, it wasn't irritating though. Small but substancial details in every metal
rerelease.

That's all.

If it makes you fell better, my dubbed copy of this demo is almost completely unlistenable. I have had it for almost 10 years and I forced my way through it 1 or 2 times, so what you are hearing is probably much much bettet than what I have ever heard.

My dear friend from Greece,ION BRITTON,i must thank you for your words about our new releases that just came out,as i must thank ALL metalheads that showed a VERY VERY BIG interest on our releases making them go so fast!!!! We also apreciate ,receiving your comments about our releases in order to develop our products...We need them!!!

Concerning your observations on our releases,my friend,ION BRITTON,we have the answers:

1.You mentioned about the sound of CROSS that its like a medium -budget demo sounding...and yes,it is a medieum budget demo and was always be!!!! ..all the collectors and metal heads who owns this demo tape know that!!!!The band,CROSS,that we tracked down ,and after 20 whole years, unfortunately didnt possess the DAT tape and we were forced to use the primary copy that the band owned!!!!Add the fact that we transfered from tape to cd and cd to vinyl made the sound even lower...but still listenable and good!!if you have any doubts about that we can give you the e-mail of the guy from the band and you can ask him!!!
...and now about the three live tracks:We could not include them and just give you 35 minutes music(which is the demo lasting) which is enough for some and leave behind some crucial part of the bands history!!!!Those three live tracks DOES NOT exist in any other form and we prefered to present them this way than do not presenting them at all!!!!If its any comfort for you the sound on the cd would be better than the vinyl since we will transfer from tape to cd only!!! So,we didn release CROSS for a fabulous release, well shine, thateverybody would admire ,but for th GREAT METAL that is inside this demo and that its the most important!!!

2.Concerning the CROSS cover i am sad to hear that it is a so-so cover as we pay great artists for our cover releases ,but that doesnt say anything i guess!!!Most people said good words about the cover theme!!!
We are really very interested to hear more people opinions about the cover if you like it or not and your comments anyway.

3.and last about ZIONS ABYSS cover ,that you found horrible,i cannot say much as it was the bands idea to do that. They took the original demo "s cover and they computerized it..
Thats why we had answers for you observations and we wanted to present them! But ,your comments as i said are very important for our label and we need to hear them so we can be better on our next releases!!!Thankyou again all for your GREAT RESPONSE on our releases!!

No doubts at all, i do believe you and it was not my intention to check out your honesty. And also i do appreciate the fact that you revealed the story behind the Cross LP.

I will make one more comment though on some of your words "So,we didn release CROSS for a fabulous release, well shine, thateverybody would admire ,but for th GREAT METAL that is inside this demo and that its the most important".
OK, it's true that i hadn't heard of Cross before and it was a nice surprise learning about a forgotten old band which made GOOD music indeed and i must thank you for revealing/sharing that old secret with other hungry metalheads as well. However I would prefer a little bit higher standards on the sound-quality issue generally. I'm not mad and obsessed with top-notch sound-quality values, but i somehow feel that the whole result wasn't worth all the 15 Euros i paid if you know what i mean. I'm not crying for the money i paid and i don't feel cheated either, so i guess you got my point. About the live tracks: no problem with your point of view about them, i personally wouldn't sacrifice quality for quantity. It's no use including material that can't be heard and enjoyed at all, that's my opinion though. 35 GOOD minutes of music are better than 50 half-good half-average minutes imo.

About the drawings: No further objection for the ZA cover since it was band's decision to do it that way, but i still believe it wasn't a nice one.

The Cross drawing didn't impress me and the same thing happened with the one of the Tyrant LP. It's a matter of taste after all, so things like this can happen anytime i guess. BTW, have you contacted Alex "Polwnos" S.? This guy really knows how to draw, it wouldn't be a bad idea to drop him a line in the near future.

Thanks for your reply and i truly appreciate it as much as you did. Waiting patiently for your next releases! Cheers!

Dear friend,ION BRITTON...no i wasnt mad at all with your objections,as i told before, i do apreciate fans like you showing their objections on such cases, and i will have to thank you again for that, for in some points it may open my eyes on some things i consider details e.t.c.CROSS was and is one of my fave bands from the underground and i wanted to share my experience with other metalheads and believe me we did EVERYTHING to have the best quality on sound...we consider that there will be a much better result on our cd"s when they come out..and i understand your objections on that,i do have the same demands on some re releases.
About the covers again, yes as i mentioned it isa matter of taste, most people liked the cover and i believe there will be some people in the future that will argue on that...Tyrants cover let me tell you that it is one of my fave covers..Eric York who has done the Solitude Aeturnus -"and justice for all" lp,Arson and some Slough feg covers is a GREAT artist and i like most of his works, but again its a matter of taste.....Alex "polwnos"????of course i know him,i see him rarely but he is a good friend of mine and a great guy!!!i didnt know he is making covers,i would be very interested to see his work.
Last words,i really want from people to hear bad and good about our releases, send us your e-mails.
thank you
