Metal TV shows supporting the underground (do they exist?)

Post by Stormspell »

I was wondering, if an unsigned band (or even on a small UG label without big financial support) gets a professionally shot promo video clip, is there any metal TV show that will accept it for rotation? Anything anywhere?

Don't know about that, but youtube is yer friend and for many bands it has turned out worthwile to make a professional promotional video and get it on there. For instance, the best decision commercially that Helvetets Port has done was to make the "Lightning Rod Avenger" video. No TV show has shown it that I know of, but it became a youtube hit and drew lots of attention to the band.

Ok, I know this wasn't the intention of the OP but I feel like giving my opinion on musical videos.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of music videos. It's sometimes nice to see some old footage from rare bands and such, but I have DVD's of Macabre and Autopsy (two of my favorite bands) and I've just watched them once and never felt like watching them again.

Ok but I figured out that ANVIL really was buried in the underground for many years until their recent comeback under the light of the medias!

VH1 Classics is a decent channel showing old classic vids from the 80s, but this particular talk show is a bad BAD parody of a metal show. It is hosted by some comic dude who hasnt listened to metal since 1973, and the sleazy cocksucker-of-an-expert Eddie Trunk...
