Shipping from the Netherlands...

Post by Avenger »

How much does it cost to ship a single CD in a jewel case via Registered Airmail overseas from the Netherlands?

Some jerk on eBay is trying to charge me $15.00 USD to send a single CD...

Total bullshit I say.

registered airmail should be around $8 USD. He can't charge more than $10. But please don't forget how much $$ charges the idiot Canadian Post...

Registered airmail was something like 7-8 euro's, so that's 11-12 USD's. If you include packaging he might not even be ripping you off that much.

Registered shipping 100-200 grams (1 cd) WITH extra bubbles is 4.90-5.70E so UP to $8.3 today. So EVEN $10 is acceptable. $15 is bullshit.

Must depend on which service you ship it from, when I checked about a year ago it was almost double that.

So you're telling us that if I send a reg. letter of 20 grams from your country to Canada I will pay $15??  C' mon!

If you check DHL you will see 8.90E for surface (!) from Germany inside Europe but they mean "package" if you send a simple cd airmail the cost will be 3 Euros. It can't be the same it must have a scale. In most countries there are several scales <100 gr, <200, 200-350, 350-500 & I think it's a fair one system.

You're not being ripped off. Packaging, postage, paypal fees.... that sounds about right.
