looking for more info on NWOBHM band Desolation Angels

Post by Ron..... the cheeb »

The new 4cd boxed set "Feels Like Thunder" has created some confusion for me. (I have not bought it yet, still trying to decide whether to search for/bend over for a fkn die hard edition or not.)

First, about the 1987 "Fury" demo. The box set and the "B" side of the cassette/vinyl issue of "While The Flame Still Burns" have the same track list for this demo. 4 tracks--- Fury/Vision/Chainsaw/I like It Heavy. Iron Pages mentions 5 tracks, and the titles Blackheart and Scream All Night. Metal-Archives.com lists 5 tracks--- Blackheart/Chainsaw/Scream All Night/Fury/When A World Dies, which agrees with Iron Pages. Does anyone have further info on this demo? 5 tracks or 4? Were there 2 versions of it?

Next, "While The Flame Still Burns" LP. The never released full 8 song version with new singer Lee Addison is on the box set. Previously, there were 4 songs released as the "A" side of the WTFSB original cass-vinyl, with original singer Dave Wall. They were-- Im On Fire/Power Hungry/Killer/WTFSB. However, last September I managed to download a 6 track version of WTFSB, that is obviously from vinyl. Tracks are-- Only Time Will Tell/Power Hungry/Feels Like Thunder/Im On Fire/Soul Of The City/Wings On My Heels.

Lastly, the other demo and old live tracks. Iron Pages mentions a live demo from 1983, that contains tracks like "Hounds Of Hell","Doomsday",Satans' Child", "No Mercy". These correspond to some of the old live track names from box set disc 3. Does the booklet say, or does anyone know, if the box set tracks are the actual 1983 demo tracks? And were there any other demo tapes actually released by the band back in the day? This is one of the few cases where Iron Pages and metal-archives.com cannot provide all the answers.

Any help would be appreciated.....

thanks omen. I appreciate the response.
Nothing for me there, though. That thread started as a question about the release date, and quickly de-volved into the typical "my favorite bands are the best bands, why do you care about a band I don't like" bulls**t.

This has confused me to. Though, I do think it's safe to assume that the band knows the real deal about the demo they recorded. The actual Fury demo is probably the one on the box set, with four tracks Fury/Vision/Chainsaw/I Like it Heavy.

The demo that Metal Archives refers to as "Fury" is probably the 1985 five song demo that is mentioned in the liner notes of the box set. Two of the tracks (Scream all Night and When a World Dies) from that session is included on the box set.
Chroming Rose “Pressure” LP found! :D
