Two-part albums

Post by Professor Black »

Sorry if this is a repeat topic...

How many part one and part two albums are out there? Part one is generally the better, but there are exceptions (I'll mark those with a *)

WASP - The Neon God
Bathory - Nordland *
King Diamond - Them and Conspiracy *
Gamma Ray - Land of the Free
King Diamond - Abigail

Surely there are more...?

Also, 1st part of The Spider's Lullabye is an indirect follow up to Them & Conspiracy.

+ Queensryche - OM 1 & 2
King Diamond Abigail 1 & 2

Well Helloween's keepers came first in my mind but I hate them. Usually when a band grows old and tame they release a weak part II for their classic album and piss off everyone. :)

The first is a classic, I would say one of the best power metal albums from Canada.

The second is in a very similar style, some great songs like the epic "Heavy Metal Wizzard", but also some fillers, as well. I would say a worthy comback / follow up to the first one.

Virgin Steele's "Marriage of Heaven and Hell" part 1 and 2. I can't really decide which is the best, they are both immortal.

Iced Earth's recent Something Wicked part 1 and 2, the first one titled "Framing Armageddon" and the second "The Crucible of Man". Most of Framing Armageddon rules, while I thought Crucible was a letdown.
Chroming Rose “Pressure” LP found! :D

I actually prefer the second one, as strange as it sounds. Check 'em out and judge for yourself!

Took me quite some time to get into them but I love these albums too.
