I'm Exciter-ed
Dug out the first three Exciter albums and been playing them this week; I almost forgot how awesome these are! 'Violence and Force' has always been a thrash favorite, but I'd forgotten how many killer songs are on 'HM Maniac' and 'Long Live the Loud' too!

All great albums with Dan Beehler's legendary terrorizing Halford-like vox. Why some people still regard them as ''thrash'' though? For me they're BALLSY heavy metal of the dirtiest kind. They've certainly influenced thrash metal, but they are not thrash imho.

Great albums, especially HM Maniac and Violence And Force. Cranked up the stereo and played HM Maniac three times the other day. Deadly stuff! Really looking forward to seeing Beehler at Metal Merchants in a week and a half. It also looks as I will be able to do an interview with mr. Beehler himself.

I've always considered them thrash, but I can see your point, especially on LLtLION BRITTON wrote:All great albums with Dan Beehler's legendary terrorizing Halford-like vox. Exciter is one of my all time fav bands .I never considered them to be Thrash Metal as well .Their sound is THE perfect blend of Judas Priest and Motorhead .The first two albums (Heavy Metal Maniac ,Violence And Force) and the 1992 lp ,the panicstriking masterpiece of viciousness "Kill After Kill " are three outstandingly superb samples of raw ,vicious ,bonecrushing ,steelbending Heavy Metal .And ,yes, the Heavy Meatl Maniac lp stated new standards for the word "HEAVY" in Heavy Metal as it is ,by far ,the heaviest metal album of the 80ies. There were a lot of bands that played faster ,with for aggressive vocals BUT nowone had this HEAVY sound Exciter had!
The Jaque Belanger lps were very qualitive as well (Dark Command ,Blood Of Tyrants) were Exciter sounded faster and darker .These lps had some outstanding tunes like Marshall Law ,Violator ,Burnt At The Stake ,Let Us Pray ,Metal Crusaders ,Intruders ,Screams From The Gallows etc etc .
Recruiting a new singer the "Metal Mouth" (i don't remember his real name) ,their latest album Thrash ,Speed ,Burn (WOOOOAAA ,now that's an old school title ) is very good as well and tunes like Massacre Mountain ,Evil Omen ,In Mortal Fear will give you a good (over)dose of headbanging.
Having the chance to watch them live a couple months ago ,in Athens Hellas ,was a lifetime desire for me and a "Metal To The Bone" experiance .Jhon Ricc is one of the coolest ,kind people one can can meet and the band blasted our brains to the floor!

This is a prime example of "Speed Metal".
Regardless, awesome band from one of the greatest scenes.
