ATTACK (GER)
First out the "Seven Years In The Past" CD requested by The Earlking:

Truly one of the finest and most unsung acts in the Teutonic Metal field! In fact I'm tempted to dub this particular album their best. Got a feeling this will go down VERY well w/ Avenger, Mordred and other resident fans of the genre, so don't miss out on this one, guys.
Got this rip from Thrashmageddon, so credits to whoever it was who upped it there.
ADDED:
The Secret Place CD '95

They still got it! Stylewise a bit more diverse on this one, but qualitywise not that far behind "7 years.." imo. Now, since I don't have any of the 3 first ones in digital format I'm hoping someone else might upload them for interested parties. "Return Of The Evil" is surely a must-hear for ANY classic HM fan.

Thanks! I've been listening a lot to their Return Of The Evil and Destinies Of War so I have high expetations. I'll get around for some feedback after I've listened to this one.

Okay this is the first time I've checked this band out
been meaing to check them out for ages, being a huge fan of early teutonic stuff. Is good but far from the cream of the crop, does the snare sound annoy the hell out of anyone else? makes the whole band sound thing and trebley. Now playing one of the greatest teutonic speed albums EVER...

I actually do think that this is the cream of the crop. I love the other albums I've heard from to band as well (except the first one) but this surpasses even those. It sounds like a natural continuation of their last album, Destinies Of War, evolving their speed metal even more further into the realm of Power Metal. The songs seem to be more complex & epic than ever before and I can hear some influences from Piece of Mind/Powerslave -era IM here. Yes I'm also tempted to call this Attack's best effort. Mega thanks for the upload DaN!
Nightlock, YES! Scanner - Hypertrace is an awsome album!

Attack is ultra god,i wonder where Ricky has disappeared to for the last decade or so,not even Hellion can locate him to release that cd they ve been promising to release.
Revitalize is a good introductory cd to this band.cream of the crop of German steel indeed

How's their BEASTKILLER album.. I don't know anyone who has actually heard it? How rare it is? It's the missing link between their early speed metal and the later more epic style?!

I think this is a great album. I'd never checked out their later stuff before because I'd heard some of Return of the Evil a while ago and thought it was just average. Now that I think about it, I probably should have given it a chance sooner because a lot of German bands were putting out great albums in the early-mid '90s (Running Wild, Rage, Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, etc.)
I dug out an old copy of Sentinel Steel Magazine with an Attack interview. Regarding Beastkiller, the producer disappeared, and he's the one with the master tapes. That's why it was never released. Ricky said it was their heaviest album.

I've heard a couple of the previous albums prior to this one and although on this release they seem to stray further from the Speed Metal aspect, the band seems more focused and consistent heading in more of an almost progressive direction at times.
This is fairly unique in some ways.
A solid and enjoyable effort.
