DIKEN (Turkey)

Post by Mr Nuke »

What are your opinions about this Turkish band? A post from tbieri from this forum made me do a little search and I've found their second album from 1998 on mp3 and I've immediately liked their epic songs with the subtle oriental influence. My friend in Turkey will try to get their albums, which according to him were released on tape, even if I remember having found a CD cover somewhere.

From all the Turkish HM bands I've heard (WHISKY, WYVERN), DIKEN is the most mature one, and the band that has the strongest compositions IMO.

Anyone else into them ?

I can sell you my CD copies if you want them for $10 each plus shipping. I bough them coz someplace they were labeled as "Turkish answer to WASP"... unfortunately I couldnt hear nor WASP, nor epicness

The best Turkish band by far for me is ALMORA

Thznkd for the offer ! Next month probably because this one I'm already short of cash.

And, I say that I see no WASP in DIKEN. It's not their spirit at all for sure.

And what about ALMORA? Any way to listen to it?

I am sorry ! I do hear some WASP in their first CD "Hedef Büyük" !
And i do hear MUCH of epicness in their second CD "Ay Batarken" !

This 2 CD's are quite differrent from each other. "Ay Batarken" is fantastic and easily he best CD from Turkey i know !

So bad the band split up after their last cd Tahrip. In most cases they were ridiculous, specially live, but their debut cd 'hedef büyük' was cool.
