CHASTAIN!

Post by sovdat »

Simply amazing band with great, great vocals!!! Which is your favorite Chastain release? I'm not gonna vote yet, 'cause I haven't heard them all, but of those I have (first 3), Ruler of the Wasteland gets my vote! Too bad that the CDs are so expensive, hehe :)

If I'm correct someone suggested them to Oli and Tarek as a possible KIT band, but they said, that they are very expensive, so not many chances of seeing them around here ... :(

One of those bands I probably heard the wrong album off long ago and never followed up on. Gonna keep an eye on this poll and give the winner another chance.

What about the CJSS-albums? Better/worse than Chastain solo?

I have tried many times to listen to them, but i just couldn't find an album that i would hear from start to finish. A couple of good/great tracks on each one and nothing more. CJSS without being anything spectacular are better imo. I don't know what to vote for...

Killer band! I voted RULER OF THE WASTELAND, but 7TH OF NEVER, VOICE OF THE CULT and MYSTERY OF ILLUSION are classics as well.

I also heard the wrong thing initially and never went back to them.

I like them a fair bit haven't heard all of their classics though only three of the above mentioned so can't really comment. They are however A HUGE DEAL greater than CJSS (average more hard rock feeling overall + much more mediocre vocalist).

'I ain't votin' in no poll motherfucker', hah, but I'll go with 'Mystery of Illusion', like it a bit less polished, and the cover art KILLS.

Dude, we can't all agree with each other and we are certainly not obliged to devotedly follow your taste and preferences in music. I just said my opinion. I'm not asking you to accept it, but don't starting bullshiting about Antisect or whatever i or anybody else listens to. And next time write clearly what you want to say.

Fine, make sure to direct your posts clearly to the one you're referring to. I don't have much time trying to solve your smart-ass riddles each time.

CJSS aren't bad at all just more of a tame middle of the road sound I own both 80's LP's by them.

I've never really been a fan of female vocals in metal so this band is one of those that I've heard a few times and was never really impressed with. It's the same issue that I have with Detente and similar bands, I love the style and they have great songs, but the vocals ruin it for me.

Both albums are personal favourites of mine, although, I'm big into that 80's tinged US Heavy/Power metal scene.
