Ritual (BE) - Demo 2000

Post by humus »

As requested by Levi. This band released a highly collectable 12" in the eighties and reformed for a short time around 2000, with this demo as a result.

Awesome, thought you forgot all about it. I like the sound of this one more than the infamous EP, but haven't heard it in full yet.

doomedplanet: this is all six songs.

Cheers. I met the old drummer in Stockholm a few years ago when he played with TPOG and he promised to send me this but it never happened.

Here's my rip of the MLP for those who's missing it:

I really like that MLP. Another great piece of metal from Belgium. Too bad that it's a pain in the ass to find, even for Belgians... :(

Worth asking: are there any other, earlier demo material with this band recorded?

I never heard of any. Ofcourse, that does not rule out the possibility that there is no other material out there.

Some piece of human filth who's name I don't wanna mention once played me a hilarious and simply awful, early RITUAL-track from an old Belgian local comp LP over the phone a few years back. Anyone familiar with this recording? Would be cool to add that one to the collection.

Now that you mention it, the guy you speak of did have a Ritual rehearsaltape from 1984! I completely forgot about it as I never actually got to hear it, and he's the only one I know who had it. I might ask around with the older folks if one of them has it.
I have no clue what that compilation might be though. Again, this calls for investigation.

Ritual is the best Belgian band!

Does that demo reminds the glorious EP?Or do they play something completely different.

I have a compilation track from 1982 and a demo track that Alain did pre-Ritual with his band STORM. I think doomedplanet told me a while ago that the compilation was "Music For Soundproof Chambers" or something like that. Im not sure. I can upload that stuff if you guys want. There are also videos of a reunion gig and a live show from 86 filmed at 2 different angles (from the crowd and from the side of the stage). Such a KILLER fucking band. The EP is one of my "top 5" items, its so fucking awesome.
