Some Swedish Steel for starters..

2ND UPDATE

Now here's a real hidden Swedish Metal treasure for sure. AMBUSH make a highly original blend of heavy, doomy Metal, moody & esoteric hard rock like ASHBURY, WIDOW (UK) etc and 70's folksy HR a la JETHRO TULL. The fiercely captivating and original chorus to "Run Like Hell" could itself make the EP a certain buy, but then you have the excellent doomster "Holy Ruler", the woeful, melodic "Whole Man Again" and a surprisingly good ballad closer in "Spirit Of A Fool" still waiting for you. I'm desperately searching for a copy (digital or original) of their full-length tape from '85, so all help is appreciated.

Without a doubt one of the best, most talented and professional releases of the Pang label ...but who gives a fuck about 'talent' and 'professionalism' really? What matters is the fact that both songs are outstanding examples of classic, 1st rate NewWhaveOfWherever-Metal. Åke's vocals may sport some tonal imperfections on the bridge of "One Of Two", but it matters little in the greater schemes of things. Heavy, energetic, clever and brilliant song writing all the way. 'Nuff said really.

Let me know if the 707 Inches..-article has wet your appetite for more Swedish 7"s and I'll try and upload them too.

Thanks for those! "Living Dead" comes just in time as I need to make a new Halloween mix for this year. :) As for WULCAN, I’m sorry but if I want to hear a blatant rip off of "Heaven and Hell" I’d rather listen to “Fire in Your Eyes” by BLACK KNIGHT. :P Now SERGEANT, on the other hand, is just the kind of stuff I live for!

Was going to post this in the Requests thread, but just noticed the "not related to a current post" part.

Could you post the PARADIZE 7"? Your review is quite contrary to others I've read so I'd like to hear it for myself. Thanks!

Oops! I just realized that the 2 PARADIZE tracks are on the High Vaultage reissue of the Reflexions EP. I'll have to pick that up. Sorry I asked!

You had WULCAN already in 96?? If so I'm impressed. As far as I know noone knew about that 7"until only a year ago.Could it have been Peter Höög? Or the TPL guys? Or Stefan Renström?

Let me know if there's any titles you wanna hear and uploads will follow :)

First the 2 compilation-trax by HELS, especially for John/ION BRITTON. (Still need those ORION'S SWORD demos?)
Many thanks! ''Living dead'' is a very good tune indeed. I put it in the same league with ''Birth'' which was my favorite from the 7''. Musically is not that haunting with the 7'' material, but the vocals are definitely doomy in the characteristic Swedish vein, fuckin' heavy and straight from the grave! Influenced by Nwobhm, but in no case i would mistake this band for English!

The Orion's Sword demos are still needed!
DaN wrote: The excellent WULCAN debut 7". A Swedish top-rarity of which I've only ever seen one copy.
''Mysterier'' was a cool one. It's such a rip-off that you could quite well start singing ''Sing me a song you're a singer...'' with the vocal entrance, but strangely it didn't bother me that much. ''Travellin'' was below average, tending more into the crap 'n' roll kind of metal.

I had heard this one before, it's truly an excellent piece of Epic metal. Sound close to Zone Zero, at least to my ears. ''Swords and sorcery'' slays!

Let AMBUSH and KEEN HUE be next!

Since I prefer to upload to my own servers, these will go down in a few days to leave room for more stuff. If you missed anything, ask another forum member to mail them to you or reupload them.

SERGEANT and WULCAN was new for me, never heard them before! I saw the Wulcan single on tradera for a while ago, I think it went for 40 dollars or something like that? Anyway, the cover is awesome, and Mysterier was a killer tune of music, though it was kinda ripp off. :D But it didn't bothered me as much anyway! I think the B-side was pretty good, but not the same class as the A-side.

Now, time to listen to SERGEANT.

Thanks for the uploads!!

I liked most HELS and WULCAN really masterpieces all their tracks.HELS vocals remind me of the ALMIGHTY King Diamond singing(Halloween...Halloween).I need the HELS single oslo desperately.WULCAN´s Mysterier is a HYMN really masterpiece(i need the lyrics) and Travellin´ a very good song.I didn´t liked SERGEANT,WARNING and RISING are very good.
