The Coup De Grace - Minneapolis

Post by Korgüll »

Is anyone a fan of 'The Coup De Grace' from Minneapolis?

I've had their S/T album for years & really like it!

Kinda 'alt-thrash' & a bit different, on the famous Minneapolis Twin/Tone label... something I think Helm or Sovdat may like???

Does anyone know of/or can recommend any other Minneapolis metal bands ...& any thoughts on 'Coup De Grace'??

I'm not too familiar with this band, I've only listened to their "Bombs away" demo, which is OK, if I remember well their music is a mix between thrash and stuff like SANCTUARY. I've never heard their album.

I own the self-titled and it's decent, not the holy grail of thrash, especially for 1990, but it's good.

A little more on the melodic side in some songs as well.

I dig it.

Yeah, it's not the greatest thrash record of all time by any means, but it's a bit different which is what I dig.

Opening track 'Daylight Dawning' is very BOC sounding!

I've acquired it not so long ago. I managed to listen to it once. It sounded decent and promising to certain extent. However, nothing earh-shattering. hope it will grow on me with subsequent listenings.
