How is this LP? Any worthwhile comparisons? Worth a purchase?

Definitely has the 'drty' sound other folks already mentioned. It's ok but not a personal favorite- none of the tracks are as good as their Metal Massacre 4 contribution, at least IMO. It's not too hard to find and can be gotten pretty cheaply (at least in the US). I think I sold/traded my copy away last year, but i may still have it

The early and later titles can be found at the bands website.

They play killer kick ass sludge metal. A cross between Motorhead/Holocaust/ with some vintage punk rock. There demo cassette album was release around the time Holocaust "sold out", and were gone from the heavy metal movement, and changed there name to Hologram between the 1st and 2nd Medieval cassette albums.
So they fill the gap for me between Holocaust, and all the killer titles on Neat Records and Megaforce Records.
The band went with a non-cliche look with all members having short hair, but in the end, the music was better than 90% of the bands signed by the Major Metal independents, because the labels got in the habit of signings bands, who needed another year or 2 to find a original sound or at least find there own niche.
Sometimes collectors forget about this title and you may find it cheap, other times I see there titles go for over $1oo.00.
I got medieval kills on CD the first day it was on sale, because there was not that much awesome heavy metal around that was excellent, in 2008. When the CD version of "Medieval Kills" was pressed.
The death and black metal sub-genres; always have excellent releases because the smarter artist ignore all the arena rock trends. Heavy/ Power/ Thrash acts, were probably looking where to jump next on the arena rock bandwagon, the awful reunion trend was proof of that.
The Medieval Cassette album --- 1983 ---- 10 / 10
All knobs to the right ---- 1984 --- 9/10
Reign of Terror --- 1986 --- 9/10
Medieval Kills ---- 1986 --- 10/10
Medieval Kills CD 2008 10/10
When deciding to add this band to your collection or not...either you listen to VINTAGE Motorhead and Holocaust alot or you don't. I listen to Medieval alot, so to me, they sound like real, normal, no non-sense heavy metal.

Apparently it's similar to Doom but more modern. Either way, Medieval is nothing like that.Black Axe wrote:Is that actually a genre or not?Avenger wrote:"sludge" Metal this is not.
