Obscure Metal Classics that needs to be covered NOW!

Post by DaN »

Can I hear a raging version of BLACK TASK's "Sex and Destruction" by one of these mushrooming Thrash-newbees please?

And VOIVOD could do very well by covering HOLOCAUST's "On The Ropes" if you ask me.

More suggestions? No tracks already covered.

What about a cover from Coven like Wicked Day or Burial Ground. I regard this Coven LP as one of the best total obscure metal releases ever!!

...or a cover from Hell's Land of the Living Dead;

...or a cover from Desolation Angel's Fury
Long Live The Loud !!!

Im planning on doing some obscure covers with my band after we've been together a little longer. We already know Mystik's "Psychosis" from their AMAZING 1989 demo tape. The demo version completely destroys the album version. We also know "Toxic Wasteland" and "Bow To Thee" by Dofka.

We're planning on eventually doing Ritual (Bel)'s "Spaced Out", and some others.

It's not obscure, but Sanctuary's Die For My Sins really needs to be covered by... someone good. I'm not sure who.

I'd opt for Apocalypse (UK) "Chosen Few" by any true doom band.

I'm still surprised no contemporary Doom Metal act have dared to cover BLACK HOLE. A TOTEM (or whatever they're called nowdays) take on "Spectral World" would be interesting to say the least. Other suggestions?

We play Lordian Guard - War in Heaven but I doubt we'll record a cover of it any time soon.

Paragon do great covers, I'd like to hear them do Tank's Honour and Blood.

Im almost done learning the drums on "Dead Ones Cry No More" (my favorite Mezmerist song), and I am done learning the drums for "Spectral World" (my favorite Black Hole song). The rest of my band are going to learn them, but probably in a few months because the Mezmerist is REALLY fucking hard on guitar and we're busy working on other stuff. Im also learning "Ready To Strike" by Wild Pussy and lately Ive been playing along to "Blaze Of Glory" by Titan Force. Im trying to get used to keeping the double bass that fast for long periods of time, so Blaze Of Glory is really good to practice to. I dont know if the guitarist could do the solos (probably not, theyre fucking hard!) but we're going to try eventually.

Also, "See" is the best Solar Eagle song! If any of their songs will be covered that should be it!
