I just read a thread about the Priest remasters on the Steve Hoffman audiophile boards. Are those remasters really that bad when compared to the original pressings? People there described them like the worst sounding CD's ever and I am just not hearing it. Sure they are compressed and boosted up but are the originals really that good?

I must not have very good hearing, but I think they sound pretty good!!! Defenders of The Faith sounds ten times better than the original press, I think. I've had all the original pressings, and gave them to a friend after I got the remasters. Some people are just going to defend the "first press" of ANYTHING...no matter what it is.
