Should Beyond Possession be considered metal? I mean there are metal riffs but the atmosphere and feel of their music is total skatepunk/hardcore to me.

I was flip-flopping about this, but what the heck. I think it's just about thrashy enough. The later tracks on that comp boast some surprisingly Maidenish guitar & bass work.
