I'm not really sure how much money these blogs make, but i see Bounded-By-Metal uses link bucks as a host now, so he gets paid something for every download from his site as well as whatever he nets from the whole donation scam.
As a blogger & poster myself, i can't take the moral high ground where music sharing is concerned, but i do draw the line at profiteering from the works of others.
Especially as the majority of the musicians who recorded the music we hold so dear were, for the most part, never properly financially rewarded for their efforts.
It must be galling to them in particular to see someone trying to line their pockets off of their work, but i don't really see how you can stop these people rifling through forums like this one for material they can swipe either.
I wish i had something more helpful to suggest. :?
I cannot, I shall not, I will not obey.

That sounds like a reasonable idea, why not give it a shot and see how it works out?

Was Dan opposed to the idea, or are you just bringing him into the conversation?

I only really noticed why this VENGEANCE-thread became so popular earlier today..

I gave up being bothered by the fact that unique rips from here turns up on other forums and blogs long ago. There's just no 100% proof way to avoid it and to be honest you can only be so anal-retentive about stuff like this. It's not like it's our music to begin with and we're all operating within a moral and legal gray-area anyways... Besides, not every single upload I've made in the past have been my own (though I try to state the source if I remember it).

BUT... this thing with blogs making money off the clicks/downloads of "our" rips, stuff turning up on bootlegs etc is a different and much more annoying matter. I used to think 25 posts would be enough to get people stuck & engaged here for different reasons than just raaahhr mp3s, but perhaps I was wrong. I guess raising the bar to 50 is the least we can do... *climbs down to the engine room*

Edit: Done. 50 posts for Poisonoise-access it is.

It is kinda sad that the only u/l threads that generate much discussion are the ones that go way off track :?

Sad indeed. And it's always been like that since the start of Poisonoise. People seems to be more interested by the value ($$$$) of a record than its content ...

I personally don't think any harm is done here.
True, true. I've got a copy of this in my mailbox the other day out of the blue. It came as a surprise and totally for free, so there is no commercial purpose behind it whatsoever.

I still don't know who made it and mailed it to me. But whoever did it, crafted it very nicely and I thank him/her for hooking me up with a copy of it. Cheers.

Maybe this person was trying to give you hints on which bands to re-release? ;)

I'm not sure if it's just temporarly, but the link is not working at the moment.

Could somebody re-upload?

The link is fine.

Just try it again at another time.
