ouch! women who don't care what you "spend on them" are more my type anyways.
Well I've been lucky that way - she never ever asks how much I spend because she knows that food and bills come first and she is not selfish, looking for gifts and all that shit. The problems occur when I want to listen to the purchases
My wife doesn't listen to metal at all. She thinks I'm insane because of my addiction to metal. I just tell her, it's better than being addicted to cocaine, and cheaper. That usually shuts her up.
I used to use that same logic with my parents. "Look, just be thankful I'm not lying in a gutter with a needle in my arm". That would usually bring them down to earth.
My wife has absolutely no interest in metal at all, but she understands that I love it, and that's all I could really ask for. She knows I've been into this stuff for more than 20 years now, and although she doesn't understand it, she knows it puts a huge smile on my face and is OK with that. It also helps that she doesn't question how much I spend on metal LPs/CDs/etc. all the time.

My GF is into metal, but mostly into the classics (Priest, Saxon, Queensryche), or some weird folk stuff, or classic 70s / 80s hard / glam / rock. So, mostly, I still have to listen to my thrash bands on the speakers (or she gets annoyed, haha ...), while she liked stuff like Messiah Force / Visitor / Sanctum ...
And she loves concerts (even if it's a Kreator or Obituary gig ), her denim vest with Screaming for Vengeance backpatch and white hi-tops
