Well I've been lucky that way - she never ever asks how much I spend because she knows that food and bills come first and she is not selfish, looking for gifts and all that shit. The problems occur when I want to listen to the purchases

I am very lucky. My wife does never complains about my metal (or other music) obsession. She listens to Anal Cunt and Madonna in harmony.

My wife doesn't listen to metal at all. She thinks I'm insane because of my addiction to metal. I just tell her, it's better than being addicted to cocaine, and cheaper. That usually shuts her up.

I used to use that same logic with my parents. "Look, just be thankful I'm not lying in a gutter with a needle in my arm". That would usually bring them down to earth.

My wife has absolutely no interest in metal at all, but she understands that I love it, and that's all I could really ask for. She knows I've been into this stuff for more than 20 years now, and although she doesn't understand it, she knows it puts a huge smile on my face and is OK with that. It also helps that she doesn't question how much I spend on metal LPs/CDs/etc. all the time. :)

My GF is into metal, but mostly into the classics (Priest, Saxon, Queensryche), or some weird folk stuff, or classic 70s / 80s hard / glam / rock. So, mostly, I still have to listen to my thrash bands on the speakers (or she gets annoyed, haha ...), while she liked stuff like Messiah Force / Visitor / Sanctum ...

And she loves concerts (even if it's a Kreator or Obituary gig :D), her denim vest with Screaming for Vengeance backpatch and white hi-tops :D :D :D
