Hmm.. so this has become more of a "Drawing Down The Moon" Vs "The Oath Of Black Blood" discussion hey?

But there's something that you all are missing here, "TOOBB" never was an album from the beginning, it was a unofficial album, with demo and 7" material unoficially done by a stupid label, the one and only studio album of Beherit was "DDTM" (speaking of "Metallic" Beherit here).

Back on topic

It's pretty obvious, Blasphemy and Sarcofago (Gods!) influences on their music, "The Messe des Morts" ep, is actually an example of how to rip Sarcofago and turn it even more sick than the original, ok, equally sick.

Ah, I bought Spinefarm re-release of "DDTM" years ago, 8 years ago I think, on pic disc version with new a cover, that in my eyes is one of the most sickest covers in BM of all times, as if it was blessed by satan himself, and it's a picture of Holocausto. Totally brutal. Let me see if i find it in the web...

Ah, here it is, A and B sides pics respectively;

I recorded in tape the Huh3494efj... but erased it right away at the time, I guess I wasn't in the mood to listen to ambient kinds of music at the time, a thing that doesn't bother me nowadays as it did then.

Iron pegasus released it on picture disc, few years later Spinefarm released it on black wax/gatefold sleeve.

After reading your post, I went to search for the disc and... You're right!!!
Damn me, the truth is that I haven't listened the disc in a while, the last time was like, half year ago, when I cleaned my Vinyl collection.

Love the early BEHERIT stuff!! Especially the second album "drawing down the moon". I remember getting their promo 92 cassette from Holocausto. Got their first 7" and the split w/DEATH YELL as well as the "messe de morts" 7" which is killer too.....the keyboardy techno stuff is not for me though.

That picture disk is pretty intimidating. Something archetypal about the pose. As if carved on stone...

Anthares, my friend, killer pics! Specially the one with Sova and Holocausto haha. But H. is missing his pink Stagg (or something like that) guitar on the gig pics, would have suited very well :lol: Anyway, killer band. My faves are The Lord Diabolus demo, "Drawing down the moon" and "H418ov21.C".

My friends first band (called Damnation and buried years ago), recorded their first and only demo over the original "DDtM" -reel years back at the Tegelman brothers' studio here in Kuopio. They just laughed at it back then, but nowadays they would gladly spend some cash to get a reel-to-reel tape recorder for maximum pleasure :)

"Drawing Down the Moon" is total worship of the black arts. One of the darkest
records ever to have come out of Scandinavia in my opinion.
