Well people don't talk about them very much do they...and the LP is very good, not least considering how recent it is, not many old bands 'return' with as much grace.

Haven't listened to the LP very carefully, last time i checked i thought it was just 'OK'.
The EP has "Snow Giant" which is a killer tune, the rest are rather average though. Never understood also all that fuss the band made upon their return years ago. I mean i can easily mention right now 50 US metal albums that are better than their 80's EP. Anyway...

"Return of the Snow Giant" is a real killer. Together with Axehammer's "Windrider" one of my favourite "post 2000"-powermetal records.

I'm w/ Ion regarding the Overlorde EP and Return of the Snow Giant LP... ok but a bit overrated, but never listened to it really closely
Will check out the NC Overlorde, thanks for the re-up/l

I only got a rip of Chalice demo (with pretty hissing sound). I've heard iscariot on youtube though. Sounded great.
Oh and thanks for the reupload. Overlorde is great. Just the kind of stuff that I found refreshing after listening too much Liege Lord/Helstar/Tyrant/Titan Force -type of US steel. Enchantress Of The Night is a killer!

Overlorde "12 is fantastic and the Return of the snowgiant is cool too but the Mr. Leather Lungs are sometimes a bit too much for me.

You can get enough of everything. At least I need a little break after listening to same type of niche sound to death.

Agreed. Even your most beloved album can start to piss you off if you listen to it too many times in a certain time frame. Breaks are great.
I'd love to hear more of Overlorde NC, you'd think the band would have more songs out there...

Good demo, slick sound, melodic, lotsa hooks, thumbs up!
Anyone know where in NC they were from? I have family and friends in different parts of the state that like digging around at flea markets and have ties to some of the local music scenes, though not really the 80s metal cene, if there was one in NC

Yes everything can get tiresome at times, for several reasons, I can have periods I don't want to listen to any music at all as well. But, the comment on LL/H/T/TF; obviously referring to the 'cleaner' sound of these bands, however the first Liege Lord isn't anything like this, it's raw powerful and gritty, memorable, mystic, great lyrics - it is perfect, the best US-Metal LP(and Tyrant isn't 'clean' either - so those two bands don't fit in the comparison).

"Remnants of war" ain't clean either.

Well I meant the style also. Helstar and Titan Force I mentioned maybe more because of their slickness but Liege Lord and Tyrant are both demanding and cold, strong pounding metal that wears my ears after a long period of non-stop listening and I need to hear something "warmer". Maybe early Riot or some nwobhm. Does this make any sense to you?
