We can dig it.nightsblood wrote:Jes' talkin' 'bout Zeus, can ya dig it?Ernest Thesiger wrote:You're a bad mother.
Yup, i'm liking the ZEUS good Hard Rock, but the WHITE ASH is the pick of the bunch for me. The A-Side's pretty commercial, but still effective, and the B-Side's heavier with an epic feel, but still highly melodic, very nice indeed!
ORGANIZED CONFUSION didn't really do it for me, both songs are over long, one dimensional and repetetive, but they still have a certain period "charm".
I already had a rip of the NIGHTCHILD single, but this is indeed a vast improvement in sound. This does highlight somewhat that the singer sounds a bit out of his depth singing so high on "Remember The Faithful", but he sounds more comfortable on the flip.
Thanks again, a very nice selection overall, and a very much appreciated post.

The ZEUS 7'' is great, I've really enjoyed both tacks. Best single of the four, imo.
I don't like the first track of the WHITE ASH 7'', but the "The Spell" is a really good track, more epic and heavier !
The ORGANIZED CONFUSION is OK, more hard-rock orientated, nothing special but enjoyable.
Thanks for sharing !!

Here's another requested one:
Rock Angel (US) - Kick'in In The Black 7'' (198?)
Ok, so the intro sounds like a certain The Who song, but once you get through it, I clearly hear Graven Image worship here, especially "No Rest For The Wicked". B-side is that compulsory ballad we all have to put up with, but at least this is metallic, and picks up a bit at the end.
Does anyone know which year this was released? If it was earlier than 1984, maybe it was Graven Image who ripped these guys off!
Oh, and sorry for using Rapidshare with this one. Megaupload screwed things up and now refuses to accept the file again.

Thanks, will try it. Hard to believe there were bands that were writing songs to pay tribute to Graven Image in 198x who had officially released no more than 3 tracks. Probably a coincidence, if it sounds like GI at all. Let's see...
edit: the main riff brings to mind "No rest for the wicked", just like the way "No rest..." brings to mind "Lady of winter" from CRIMSON GLORY. All sound similar, but not in a copy-paste way. More of a coincidence I'd say. Of course GRAVEN IMAGE's anthem is infinitely more powerful and better. Can't comment on b-side since I hardly listen to ballads nowadays.
