@Daniel: I find it pretty much flawless and one of those precious few Not-At-All-Overrated raris. Every song feels special, even if it takes 3-4 listenings to notice..

It could be one of those records, like many others, that if I owned it the songs would resonate with me much more ;)

I have tried more than 4 times to get into this album since I first heard it and I still can't find any greatness in it. OK, it's from early 90s and no one played pure heavy metal in the UK by that time, but that's all. It may also be one of the best UK heavy metal albums of the 90s but that doesnt say much, does it? Decent album but nothing more for the time being for me. My opinion might change in the future although this kind of metal usually hits me in the face from the very first listen if it's really good.
Wicked rich's album was released later in the decade and although it's a bit uneven and more US sounding, its good tracks are much better than anything in Slander IMO

Damn John, what the hell do you have against classic, catchy Rock choruses and moody/modest vocal harmonies?! More SIREN, Simon & Garfunkel, early BAD RELIGION, HIGH SPIRITS etc and less HELSTAR & ARMORED SAINT in your audio-diet me thinks...

Funny thing is that yesterday and now that I am writing this I was and still am listening to HELSTAR - Sirens of the sun :D

I have nothing against "classic, catchy Rock choruses and moody/modest vocal harmonies", I just prefer listening to the more killer ones :)

Thanks! I always knew the cd sound wasn't great, never realized the vinyl was supposed to sound so much better. Should be interesting to hear and compare

Sorry John but i have to disagree here with u.
Slander's album (or better say the compilation of their 4 demo-rehearsal songs) is one of the top music things ever happened in Europe. And without a doubt the best english music inheritance of the last 20 years.
I am dreaming them on stage next year in Germany or Greece so every fan of them should help them out :)

ps: Wicked Rich album is very good but another style totally.

Thanks for the upload, Dan. Really good album! How many copies were pressed of this one? Is it possible to get hold of it at all? Only seen Forgotten Steel selling it, and he wants a fortune.

Slander!

British almanack dictates Accident of Birth, Tyr, Painkiller, The Lords of Hypocrisy, Absolute Power, Home Sweet Home and Valley of the Kings.

Thanks for the upload, the quality is great, the songs however...

So, TYR is now comparable to Slander?

TMK it's pretty hard to find and usually runs a couple of hundred dollars. It's grown in popularity with collectors over the years.
I think someone (Old Metal Records maybe?) was looking into reissuing it, though probably only on CD
