The EXUMER character on their album covers & the RISK animals!
Why are a wise man & a wise guy opposites?

Record label released "Backwaxed" and band had nothing to do with it so thats why there's no anvil in it.

Of course Motorhead's skull is the ultimate. Lemmy says that his name is either Snaggletooth or simply Motorhead! For versatility, that's a close tie with Eddie. Vic Rattlehead is also quite cool!

I also like the inanimate objects, such as Morgana Lefay's hourglass... and of course... Pharaoh's power-energy-crystal!

The Fang-face from Walls of Jericho actually seems to belong to Kai, as it appears on the mid/later Gamma Ray stuff. It's actually the mask from the movie "Rocktober Blood"!

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned Murray from the Dio records. Also, I'm not sure this would count as a mascot, really, but the Budgie-people on several Budgie albums are kind of a visual theme.

More like a parody of himself...

But shit, what other genre of music can you do that and still kick ass?

I completely forgot about that film! I've seen it though I don't remember a lot.

Sodom's Knarrenheinz is quite cool with his gas mask.

I don't know if it's good or bad, but ARIA has some kind of mascot on their last couple of albums (since "Chimera" at least). It's quite an ugly guy.

another one not mentioned is "Charlie" of Overkill fame and the demon looking character on some of the Kreator covers.

The "Kreator Demon" (does it have a name?) is great as well. It disappeared from their covers when they turned crap.

The "Destruction Butcher" is somehow a mascot as well.

 Yes! More real-life mascots in Metal I say. Korgül The Exterminator gets my vote any time though.
