is it the DOOM demo? It is ironic if this is the case that Doom got me into JJ back so long ago!....

I just checked those old mp3's and I'm almost possitive it's DOOM (jpn) playing. It's definitely not JJ. Should I upload it? It's bloody great stuff, whatever it is.
Edit: oh, and welcome back, sabbat666! Do stick around.
thanks, good to be back!
Just checked the JJ demotape that someone uploaded to the site and it is indeed the same demo I have (though the upload is missing 1 song). It is Jurassic Jade not Doom.
Unless you are talking about a different one? In that case i'd love to hear it too. Because I do know Doom released a demotape but ive never heard it. So i'm hoping it actually is Doom :p

@s666: We're referring to a different recording - this one: http://rapidshare.com/files/108553036/J ... l.rar.html
I didn't make any changes to the file names or anything, so never mind them. Would be cool to know if this really is a DOOM-demo. Could be it's just one of their albums, or even a completely different band. I'm too lazy (and sick w/ fever) to go and compare with the vinyls at the moment.

sweet, will give a listen and see if i can make heads or tails of it.
edit: ok this is certainly Doom. problem is i dont listen to them often enough to know where this is from. in the 2nd song sounds like hes saying "You know me, Die Hard!" if Die Hard is the name of a song that could give us a clue. cool lyrics none the less.
I'll send it to my friend in Japan whos a Doom freak to see if he knows exactly what its from. it certainly sounds like it could be from a demotape. theres some tape hissing going on.
wherever this is from its defiantly the best stuff ive heard from them. i'm really digging this. think i'll wear my Doom t-shirt today.

ok so i had a sneeking suspicion it was the No More Pain LP. so i dusted it off, plopped it on the turntable, and low and behold its the same thing. i guess this was just mp3'd by someone who had a taped copy from back in the day or something. ah well it reminded me how amazing the LP is!
i think the actual Doom demotape is 4 songs anyway. i'll continue to search for that one.

That JJ demo that was posted in here in the past by omen of hate is great btw! Maybe my favourite JJ songs (if it would include song "the old kingdom of hell" it would be even greater!).

Had to put on that DOOM debut for the first time in a while. Damn! I totally forgot how bloody great this album is. Still missing some of their singles..
Concerning Jurassic Jade, they never struck me as that special. Pretty straight-forward, basic Thrash imo. It was cool to hear that live flexi though since it had that "brutal-Heavy-Metal-in-the-process-of-inventing-Thrash"-edge to it. They also had some early songs on various compilations, didn't they? Anyone have them to share?

Well they had one song (I was born to thrash) on HEAVY METAL FORCE III comp and two songs (kagamiyo kagami, the old kingdom of hell) on SKULL THRASH ZONE vol.1 comp. I could upload those songs or the whole compilation albums if you or anyone else is interested..?DaN wrote:Concerning Jurassic Jade, they never struck me as that special. And yeah Doom is pretty neat. Great bassist!
