On the 10th anniversary of Piggy's passing. Definitely superior to Negatron.

Slight disagreement to the above statement, they are quite different, and for different moods.

Every band has its highs and lows, and most of them had went through shorter or longer hiatuses, and with that + the number of releases taken into account, VOIVOD are one of the most consistent. Their hiatuses were quite short.

Perhaps only MOTORHEAD are more consistent, but musically they are not really comparable, huh? In a wider context, I'd mention BLUE OYSTER CULT, of course, then KILLING JOKE. THIN LIZZY were quite consistent until they were (recent discovery, ), ... ANVIL, ...

SLAYER, MEGADETH, KREATOR and DESTRUCTION could also be mentioned, then certain band on letter "A", ...

And yes, I can confirm, these ten years have gone very quick ... :-/

I suppose any prospective thread on the subject would be pretty subjective by it's very nature as we are all guilty of being somewhat 'blind' to the deficencies in albums by some of our favourite bands.
I'm a huge fan of 'Music From The Elder', 'Never Say Die' & 'Voivod' for instance, all albums that are generally rated lowly even by fans of Kiss, Sabbath & Voivod respectively, but are records which i have strong attachments to musically & because of the memories they bring back.
Funny you should mention B.O.C. as i've ben re-listening to some of their stuff recently after reading the huge article in the new issue of Chips & Beer, but apart from the odd song i remain unmoved by them. Don't know why, but they just don't grab me for some reason and i've really tried to give them a fair listen over the years.
