It's just a repress from later on down the line. Earache is quite a popullar label, so it's not at all surprising that this was done. Your friend is telling you stories.kansa_666@hotmail.com wrote:Talked 2 a frd a while ago, as he mentioned that Entombed - Clandestine had many boots (even it's a cheap piece), and he thought mine looks funny. Now I get a chance to scan the whole CD. Could someone tell me if it's a boot?
Disc front: Looks blur
Disc back:
This CD was released in 1991, but as it can been seen form this image that it has a SID code: IFPI LI55. But the ting is, SID system is introduced in 1994, and this CD has barcode: 5018615103721 and catalog number: MOSH CD 37, if it is legit, it must be the pressed in 1991. => Confusing.
Back insert: again, looks blur
Is this a legit copy? The size of the matrix seems to be all right, but it does have IFPI

was the recent reissue sealed? was it ever proven that an ashen boot existed?
I've already talked to him about this and I personally have my doubts that his copy isn't the repress, but you can't be certain unless he opens it and he won't.
Of course if that's where you got those photo's from...
What's the verdict?

It supposedly looks like the one sovdat won. I had him compare the two before he shipped. Even though he didn't come thru with pics, I'm not concerned at all, giorgio always comes thru. Ill make sure to leave some pics, so we can compare presses, for those who are interested.
Speaking of pics, those shah pics are coming in a few hours. Thanks for being patient.

Sodvat, is this copy of live to die the same as yours?
I have never seen the Greek bootleg myself b4, but this copy I received looks a lot like it. Below is the CD & booklet scans:
Back Insert:

The back insert has both spines, but it is trimmed too much, it's shorter than a standard CD back insert, and when you place it into a jewel case, you can see the black tray from the back.
Front Insert:
Page 1 and 2:

Page 2 and 3:

There are 3 pages in the booklet, but there are only printings ON SIDE OF EACH PAGE.
Disc Scan:

The main reason y I doubted this copy to be a boot is its booklet paper quality. It's incredibly thick, almost like print paper. And when you smell it, there is no nice smell of ink from the 80's like most of the old CDS do.
Does your copy has a over-trimmed back insert with both spines?

That's really not any sort of a proven or consistent method to tell what is legit or not.kansa_666@hotmail.com wrote:Some of the old CDs do have nice smell of ink from the past, but some HK boots smell like crap.Avenger wrote:kansa_666@hotmail.com wrote:And when you smell it, there is no nice smell of ink from the 80's like most of the old CDS do.

Hi, sorry to trouble you guys again. Here's another rare title up for verification.
Morbid Saint - 1988 spectrum of death Grind Core Press. The images are as follows:
Front Insert:

The booklet consists of 3 pages with printings and lyrics on both sides. This is only the first 2 pages.
Disc Back:

Disc Front:

Back Insert:

The basic reasons behind my paranoia over this:
1) The booklet and back insert are extremely new, feels like they were shipped out from the manufacture plant yesterday.
2) Some bootleg victims have discovered one of the flaws of Hong Kong bootlegs - the ink they used to print the CDs smells extremely bad, and it makes the paper smells like the CD was previously owned by a heavy smoker. However, this CD does have a smelly booklet which worries me the most.
So you guys, any idea if this is the boot?
