LSD Connection compilations?

I found these to be pretty interesting mixing obscure hard rock,some what obscure metal and a few obscure modern bands.

I believe these have to be homemade as well.

Are these real compilation CDs? Great mix-tapes for sure, but if someone really released this as actual compilation CD-bootlegs to cash in they should be shot

I noticed an overabundance of Swedish material.. Must investigate this further..

It seems to just be for fun to show people proto-metal online,I see no evidence of selling for profit, reminds me of the metal museum compilations that contain some good folk/viking/pagan/black stuff but the other genres of comps seem to lack I still consider them a good start for people new to metal in general.

Hmm, I think this is more to show how cool some people's music taste is. Hope I'll have enough time to make some compies myself during the summer. To show mine, heheh. Thank you, Mr. Medium to turn my attention to these sites.

I've seen these a few times before, with different covers actually. Of course they're made to show off, but it's the same kind of showing off I like to do as well, so I say they're a good thing. There are some good tunes on those things.

Edit: and still no one has done anything about the error on number two; the song Living with the Dying should be attributed to Night Sun. Their album was called Mournin'.

Alright thanks I retagged, I know I have better rips than the ones used on the compilations, I bet I could make superior ones with all the hard rock blogs laying around. The album covers are actual scans and pictures of acid blotters in other words hits of acid.

Agree!

Regarding Night Sun: one of the best and heaviest bands from early seventies. Some riffs sound pretty modern. Shame they didn't make sth more.

Again, I agree with you. That album is one of the few 70s albums that 80s metal fans may well take a liking to.

Just listed through the Metal Museum fan compies. I have the feeling I would start to yawn several minutes into the first. The maker seemed to be very enthusiastic at how many genres Metal has actually produced over the years!? Enter Sandman among thrash ... hmm ... sweet. and Metalized Hearts even sweeter.

Hey, how about we would start a contest of fan compies of various categories say until the end of summer? The prize would be ... well we could actually figure out until then what the prize would be.

I never said they were the best I don't see how they could put really thrash bands then out of no where put a non thrash song from a thrash band, but the folk,viking,pagan ones are good overviews in any case.
