I've discovered recently the album "Babylon" of SOLDIER (USA).
It's an excellent surprise, great classic US H-M, but well-played, the songwriting and the riffing are excellent.

No the participated in the California Metal compilation in 1988 where they rerecorded Borderline and Tears. If you haven't listened to these trax from 88 in the newer edition you miss two of the best 80's US Hymns.

I've yesterday picked up the cd by SEVENTH AVENUE-Southgate do you like them.Other 90's white metal bands that you suggest what about LIGHTMARE?VENI DOMINE?
about Scarley Rayne are they really good(if so Ion Britton maybe you should upload it)?

and STRYPER are the best white metal band ever without doubt.I really like what they've done in every LP(yes even in ''In God We Trust). What about the solo career of Michael Sweet that had done in the 90's are they good? i always liked to hear.

I have SCARLET RAYNE album "Theater Humanitarian". It's very good, classic heavy-power metal, the songs are rather complex (sometimes it sounds like some prog-metal) and the musicians skills are very, very high.
Too bad, the vocals are a very average, with a better singer this album could have been a classic of US metal.

Can't agree at all. The singer's one of the best Tate-clones i've ever heard. Not as melodic/lyrical as let's say T. Mallicoat of LETHAL (another Tate-clone) but surely more aggressive and ''heavier'' than anybody else who tried to imitate Tate throughout the years. Listen closely to "Alpha and Omega" or "Sands of time", his perfomance is outstanding all the way.

Amal, you're ranting so hard about Stryper, I'm just about ready to give them another chance! I decided back in 1987 that they were crap, but hey, I was wrong about a lot of other bands too..... in fact, I looked through the Stryper section at my local record store a few days ago to see if I could find one of the $2 copies of The Yellow And Black Attack they had been sitting on forever, but no luck... just a $15 copy (the bastards), and I'm not willing to gamble that much just yet!!

Is Child Saint jesus metal? That's one of my all-time favorites, and I *think* it's religious (especially since they're from Orange County), but I'm not quite sure......

The lyrics are more than just a little preachy, so yeah, I guess they would qualify. Has anyone checked out the live CD that some old member was selling from some seedy web page? He was running this get-rich-quick-scheme on the same server so I was a bit reluctant to send money... :?

CHILD SAINT and TROUBLE are the only christian bands I listen to, and I guess I wont bother to dig deeper in the subject, actually.
