Hahahah gold. Like an Italian soccer player... sooky la la. If I still had my ticket, I'd fly to southern Europe and still get there somehow. Like someone said on Sacred Metal, Steel is stronger than Volcanic ash, metal can't be defeated.

anyone from Sweden considering to drive by car?

I am located in Copenhagen, and it doesn't look like my flight on thursday morning is going to happend.

As much as I am disapointed about this (both the fact that I most likely wont make it, and if I do - the bill will be quite different) - it's nothing compared to the hell the organizers must be going through.

Oli og Co. have my FULL support and respect! ...

I heard something about that Candlemass had to use their plane tickets if their flight isn't cancelled. If the flight takes place they won't get money back for the tickets. That's why they aren't driving to the festival as of yet, since it would risk doubling the travel costs if the flight would take place after all.

Well, no plane is going to carry Candlemass or anyone else from Sweden to Germany in the next few days. Just forget that. I say they should jump on the tour bus right about now.

So my question is, when is their flight? Is there the slightest chance they can make it to the festival by car after they know for sure their flight is cancelled like all others?

Because they cancelled Roadburn because of the reason below, they can't leave by car any later than wednesday night/thursday very early or the same would apply (especially as the trip is even longer).
"I want you to know that we really tried to see if it was possible to get down by car. If it was 12 hours in a car to Tilburg, we would have done it.
But all calculations pointed to 18 – 20 hrs instead. And that is just too much…
Our driver refused after thinking about it, and another guy we talked just laughed at us….insanity!!
We would have arrived in terrible condition to Tilburg sat morning 0600 – 0800….and nobody gains on that. The show would have been soso.."

It's roughly a 20 hour drive from Stockholm. I guess they could always be rescheduled to play Saturday instead of Friday. Then they would have to start driving Thursday morning to get there in time with one sleepover along the way. But if their flight was on Friday... Game over.

THOR REQUESTS HELP FROM GOVERNOR ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER TO APPEAR AT KEEP IT TRUE FESTIVAL IN GERMANY

Jon Mikl Thor has sought help from his old friend and fellow bodybuilder California Governor Arnold Schwazenegger. Jon has asked Arnold to see if it was possible to board a Military Plane bound for Germany at the Beale Airforce base in Northern California, 45 miles from Sacramento to attempt to perform a concert at the Keep It True Festival in Lauda, Germany, April 23.
Jon has helped Arnold before by performing with his band THOR at the Beale Airforce base to entertain the military.

“The Volcanic Ash from the Icelandic Eruption has stopped all travel from North America to Europe for commercial Airlines,” Thor explained. “I don't always ask Arnold for help but this is a special request. If Arnold ever needed my help I would be there in an instant.”

There are interesting parallels in both Jon and Arnold's life. Both Jon Mikl Thor and Arnold Schwarzenegger won the Mr. Universe Championship in their careers. Both have also had successful movie careers. Jon is planning on running for office in Washington State and Arnold already is a Governor of California.
