Tyton (USA) 3 track Demo 1991

Post by doomedplanet »

By request, a kind-of-clunker:

Tyton (USA) 3 track Demo 1991
01 Penny Head
02 Hear The Roar
03 Glass on Glass

Nothing like their classic "Castle Donnington", though the 2nd track has signs of their former glory. 1st track has some lame keys that kind of ruins it, what kind of Metal song would be called "Penny Head"? Still a worthy listen for US Metal demo maniacs.

Yes, I had this already, think it's great! The tracks are surprisingly short, I like them so much they seem to end too soon. I like the weird song titles. Should've been a vinyl EP, I'd have to have it.

I'm sorry to say this, but I find their old albums very average. I was listening again to "Castle Donnington" the other day and I lost all interest on the 3rd track...Not that this demo is anything special, but at least I enjoyed it more than the old stuff.

the rest can't match up to the titletrack of the debut 12", but it is still a neat early US Metal record overall.

Well, there are some great moments on the 12" but yeah nothing as great as the title track, which is magick.

Is this the demo with Steve and Bob from Hellhound and Kent Robertson from Rellik?

I just finished my 2nd playing and I loved it! OK, so the ballad "Glass On Glass" wasn't that special, but I've heard so much worse.. "Hear The Roar" = damn near the best song I've heard with the band - it almost feels like a "Castle Donington Part II". Perfect Metal Might! ...and I liked the keyboards in "Penny Head". On rare occations they can be utilized tastefully in melodic Metal and I really think this is one of them. Anoter excellent song. Loud cheers for the upload Rob - and shame on you for almost scaring me away from it

I was just listening to this demo and realised that I never posted a thank you here. I think it is great, better than Mind Over Metal (I must confess I have not heard the debut besides the title track which was on Iron Tyrants). Thanks!
