Bootlegs have identical matrix codes, so that doesn't matter any more

Here's what emperor.zola wrote in one email ...

version 1;
the matrix seems to be legit CDT-BERLIN NRR 1007 01
the grinder logo, the NRR logo, the text is printed in black, and there are 3 different kind of shiny rings visible on the disc itself.
the booklet consist of 2 sheets clipped together, and on the last page, next to concert booking there is a black thick column.
this version has a small waterdamage on the top corner (5 mm) of the booklet.

the matrix is the same, but it's tiny, half of the size compare to the one above... all my old cds has the "bigger style" etching as far as I can tell

the booklet consist of 3 sheets clipped together, in the middle there is a band photo, and on the last page, next to concert booking the black thick column is missing.
moreover the paper of the booklet is much thinner than the other one, much like a very (!!!) good quality color copy (factory pressed, but not that photo-paper like cover)

I have one from the latest batch. The matrix area and the matrix itself is different than in the earlier presses (I compared to the inf that was in the auction that gojira had a while ago). It also has an ifpi number.

Overall CD print quality is very good, but the black parts of the inserts - not so much. I don't know how it is in the first press.

Well at least it is easy to tell the difference, on these ones you cannot see the matrix from the top of the disc. Also it looks 'shinier', the last copies were more of a matte black. I'm buying one anyways, I'd rather have this strange repress for $20 than an original for $200

what is matrix of this one btw, still Americ Disc or a different pressing plant?

Somewhat related, I've never heard Transcendence, does it suck?

Q: Apocalypse - s/t on Out of Tune - was that album really pressed on that label back in '88??? When did you see it for sale for the 1st time?

Pretty sure it was in 88 or maybe 89, matrix of my copy was identical to that of Stone s/t and No Anaesthesia Megamania CDs. Definitely had that 'old look'

Got the Entropy CD today, yeah, it'll be easier to locate the original / early press than I thought. Inserts are in poor quality, but at least I can read the lyrics now

Just to think that I missed the original / early press becaue Dan didn't know how to use the shipping calculator

A friend of mine bought Apocalypse OOT version back in 2005 on one German metal market from a clearly bootleg seller. I asked him about the matrix and it sounded like it could be original (can't remember it now ...). So why I'm asking is if anyone bought that CD back in the 90s, just to make sure that it really existed then and it's not just some later boot. I've seen scans of it and yeah it does look pretty old fashioned ..

I don't remember the exact code but there was lot of stuff in there, solid silver matrix (no clear hub) and it was obviously pressed in the same Swiss plant that did the Megamania CDs back then. I'm pretty positive it's an 80s pressing. This CD sure got popular quickly, when I bought mine in 2005 it never went over $30 and I got mine for $15 mint, I sold it in 2007-8 for $80 and I think it stays around theat price today (haven't looked in a while though).

Do you have any evidence that the inserts in the original issue are of better quality?

When reffering to the "early press" you mean the one that Dan sold on eBay a few weeks ago for 57$? Well he told me that it was the last one from the "old" batch, but how can you really be sure that it was the first press?
