Obscure compilations
That was recorded in 1985 but released in 86. one of the best VA's from Japan. hardcore punk vs. thrash metal. my 2 favorite types of music.
At that point Saber Tiger (Yokosuka) had just become Saver Tiger. It was right durring the name change.
The insert and sticker sheet say Saber, but the jacket, obi, and labels say Saver.

The best band on that one is STRIKEMASTER... they have 2 really enjoyable scorchers with a bit of a WHITE SPIRIT thing going on. GREAT COVER ART.ION BRITTON wrote:I have a good vinyl rip of that comp, it features some really great tunes like the devastating and ultra-heavy "No peace for the wicked" of CONFESSOR, BLITZ's excellent "Key to your heart" or TOKYO's "Lonely hearts", which is great melodic metal (those who were members of Metal Treasures will probably remember it). The track from STONEHENGE is called "Warlords". Wanna hear it? Just say it...roihlem wrote: Does anyone know if the "Attack From Downunda" LP has unreleased tracks? I know that there was an unknown title from Stonehennge, but the track turned out to be "Burning Fever" from their "Wings Of Steel" LP. I also know that the Knightshade tracks were also previously released...
Mace, Thrust, Spike Raven, The Pact, Drifter, Rockkit, Exact, Fail Safe, Voyager, Lethal Fury, and Tyrus. They're mostly in the sleaze/hard rock category, but it's worth getting if you're into that (which I am almost positive you're not!Noisenik wrote:which bands are featured on the Massachusets Metal you mentioned not so long in another thread?

I guess you're right.Keir wrote:Mace, Thrust, Spike Raven, The Pact, Drifter, Rockkit, Exact, Fail Safe, Voyager, Lethal Fury, and Tyrus. @FenderMedium:
Funny if it would be written 10 tracks by 11 bands. S'sR is a killer sampler, though.
I am ... the One you warned me of
Nope, completely different Mace! I should also mention that it's not the same Thrust that released "Fist Held High", and I'm pretty sure it's not the same Failsafe that had a track on U.S. Metal II. Lethal Fury definitely has the heaviest track on this comp. They and Tyrus both play power metal (I did say mostly HR!)Noisenik wrote:interesting bandnames for sleazy HR(Lethal Fury). Mace are the "Evil In Good"-Mace?

Aw, come on! Those covers are awesome! And Algerian is one of my favorite fonts....
Am I the only one in the world who likes Kent Rocks all the way through? Yeah, Demon Pact and Dervish are the best things on there, but I think a lot of that other stuff is entertaining too, like Suicide-wannabes Replaceable Headz....

I have heard Raging Death and some others you mentioned, but these 3 are some of my favorites. Speed Metal Hell (all 3) and Thrash Metal Attack (both) are completely fucking awesome. Blood Feast, The Kill, Deathrash, Mayhem (US), Necrophagia, Anvil Bitch, Soothsayer, Emetic Leprosy, SEVERE WARNING, Battle Bratt, Insecticide, Artillery etc....awesome.deathster wrote:I look through all posts ands did not notice these interesting compilations:

Last year I came accross a copy of Mosh On Fire: Banned In LA - which is full of awesome (live) thrash from obscure bands such as Attaxe (CA), Erotikill (their best song), Psychosis (CA), Fifty Lashes, Corruption, Fathom, Civil Defiance, and more.
Im also into both Satans Revenge LPs, especially Vol.2.

Which is the Civil Defiance track? I really enjoy this band and I'd like to know if there's any non-LP material.Last year I came accross a copy of Mosh On Fire: Banned In LA - which is full of awesome (live) thrash from obscure bands such as Attaxe (CA), Erotikill (their best song), Psychosis (CA), Fifty Lashes, Corruption, Fathom, Civil Defiance, and more.
