ok, understood
As for the IFPI, I don't know why some have it and some don't. But I bought a copy of Agent Orange new in a shop a few years back and no IFPI code. So it's never 100% sure.

True - some new CDs dont have ifpi numbers at all. But it's very unlikely, that CDs from the same record company and pressing plant (after ifpi codes were introduced) sometimes come with ifpi, sometimes not...
By the way, this is the matrix of the first press:
Unfortunately yes Like in the Megaforce pressing of Kill' Em All. The seller claims she bought it it new from a store, but they all say that, and it's usually a lie.
This is on the back side of the one page insert (the very same text is on the back insert):
Probabily this is the same that is on the "second" page of your 8 page booklet.
I know, my photography skills are severely lacking. But matrix reads "DURECO (01) ANTIMOSH 01". Thanks
Shit just noticed there's an IFPI code etched into the plastic of the inner ring. Must be bootleg then? Also it's got no barcode, any version made after IFPI codes were introduced should have a barcode right? gah
If you really think it's a bootleg I will gladly buy it from you for a bootleg price
Joking aside, it looks perfectly legit to me...
If it has IFPI, then it looks like a first pressing re-release with unchanged cover art. Maybe the barcode was included in a form of a sticker on the factory foil?
I'm really wondering as I've never heard of a bootleg copy of this CD before, but this looks very atypical for a Dureco matrix. Also the second pressing has a barcode printed on the rear insert. Maybe it's a very recent boot? Guess I'll wait for a bit more input before I try to return it.
The second pressing is a whole different animal, as it is released by another record label.
Maybe the original issuer still preessed limited quantities of the CD well into the 90'... otherwise maybe it is a boot, but why on earth would the bootlegers put an IFPI there? that doesn't happen with old CD counterfeits.
I don't mean the Osmose reissue, there is also a DSP copy with barcode. I also thought it weird that a bootleg would have an IFPI (as one of the purposes of these codes is to track counterfeit releases to specific pressing plants). Apparently the first two digits of the code indicate the pressing plant, when I googled the plant codes on the Merciless CD this is the only release that came up:
