Best Albums Of '78
Marseille - Red, White And Slightly Blue
Heavy rock 'n' roll but much closer to heavy metal than early Motörhead. Though not as raw as them, especially concerning the vocals, but I love 'em.
I also love Granmax's Kiss Heaven Goodbye and a lot of other stuff mentioned earlier.
And not metal but still awesome: Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War Of The Worlds

Re: Best Albums Of '78
Keeping it rather broad...
Bowie-Stage
Dead Boys-We Have Come For Your Children
Goblin-Zombi soundtrack
Heavy Load-Full Speed
Hounds-Unleashed
Japan-Adolescent Sex
Slaughter and the Dogs-Do it Dog Style
X-Ray Spex-Germfree Adolescents
...only one metal album there but it's slim pickins'!
