That's a misunderstanding. You might just as well write the cover-tree of the song "The green manalishi" like this:

GOTHAM CITY, AXEWITCH, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, MELVINS, STEEL...
|
|
JUDAS PRIEST
|
|
FLEETWOOD MAC (1970)

Yes, the original is Fleetwood Mac, not JP.
Anyone heard the original FM version -It CRUSHES - a heavy creepy proto-Doom MONSTER!!!

What band was it that did a cover of Witchfynde - Would Not Be Seen Dead In Heaven?

Pretty sure it was a private US release from the late 80s, but I could be wrong. Might have the song wrong too.

Fates Warning did really well with Saints In Hell (JP) I think - along with their version of In Trance easily the best they've stuff recorded since 1989. Doesn't say much I know... :D

Wicked Keeper: Reverend Bizarre - 'Cirith Ungol' is not a cover.

One I haven't seen mentioned that I enjoy is MACABRE's 'Hey Joe' :)

Underground Italian metal legend, from Falconara Marittima, ladies and gentleman...KURNALCOOL!!!!

Founded in 1985,this band sings in their hometown dialect, published several albums and demos with own stuff, but they also covered some classical HM songs(with different and demented lyrics  )

1)The final countdown(Europe),they covered it in 1989 and retitled it as "Paninari del cazzo"(it sounds like "Paninaro/Poser sucks"),as a matter of fact in Italy at that time only Paninari and Posers listened to Europe and their major hit...that's why the band plays this cover against posers!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3Oms1Wui3g

2)Breaking the Law by Judas Priest, retitled "Acqua e Limò"(it sounds like "Lemon and Water"),they changed the lyrics of course, the cover lyrics are about the hangover and the italian way to recover from it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z18dAyjMOs8 live in 1987

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOCeRwr8y2Y live in 1997

here in Italy we think that TANKARD:BEER=KURNALCOOL:WINE
