Recent Metal Finds
Saw a list from a guy selling some records to make space yesterday. No prices though, the feared 'offered'. So I made him some offers, well below ebay price but more than you'd pay for a normal record. And he accepted them. Makes you think if you could have gotten them for less money.
Anyway, I got up early to pick them up (that's a speedy transaction, less than 24 hours) and this guy took care of his records even better than I do. So now I've got dead mint copies of:
Destroyer666 - Six songs with the devil LP
Svartsyn - Bloodline/His majesty DLP
Paysage d'hiver/Vinterriket split LP
Master's hammer - Dry blood EP
Thyrfing - Solen svartnar EP
Instead of just being broke I'm now in debt

Yeah thats the one... such a gay name for a shop! The dickhead in the store wanted to sell everything at $40+ (way overpriced). He acted like he knew all the records. Once he found out you wanted something he'd make up a bullshit story about how rare it was and how much you would be getting it at a bargain price because he was going to sell it for a higher amount once he listed it online (which is another lie as he tried to sell me a Sortilege lp at $40 and then weeks later I brought it on his site for $20)decibelrebel wrote:hahahaha that dead man was a 30-something overweight shut-in who played his LPs once to transfer them to tape and the extortionist is Rare Records in St.Kilda i'm guessing!!!Korgüll wrote:Yeah, hard one to get... I actually don't have it & never see it around anymore. I used to know Dave 'Rampage' Frew years & years ago and he probably has some copies... but no idea where he is now! & Bruno the drummer is totally INSANE ...I mean as a person!!!!Nicko McBuff wrote: I've never listened to this one. I saw a mint/ex copy recently in a dead mans collection sold to an extortionist 2nd hand dealer's store but I didn't pick it up as there was other stuff. Not an easy to find lp around here though it does as previously pointed out pop up from time to time on ebay and around town.
Nicko which store did you see it in lately??
Hell I got this album for about $5 here in Aus when I bought some guys collection - a killer album even with all its imperfections and yeah Bruno is wild (same Bruno that played w.Hobbs Angel of Death) don't know him personally but heard some classic stories!
I purchased mint/ex titles like Tytan - Rough Justice, Vixen - Made In Hawaii... and good titles that aren't common around here in Ostrogoth, Sortilege, Maltese Falcon, Vulcain, SAS, Elessar all for around $30 ea... at that price it was like buying new stuff so I was happy with those purchases.
He can sit on his Grim Reaper See You In Hell at $75!

I'll like to get hold of that one. I remember it getting a fair review in Kerrap! from Sylvie Simmons. Her comment on the artwork was "Armed to the Teeth? More like Hand to the Crotch!"DaN wrote:Very underrated record. "Crank it up" is one of the most intense hardrockers ever written 8)roihlem wrote:CRISIS – Armed To The Teeth LP 2,50€

I just bought this a few weeks back and found it to be excellent metal. Don't know why I never bought it before, actually now that I think about it the few times I saw it in the past the copies always had cover damage, maybe that is why.

I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon here. Ordered one from an online distro for all of about $15, and swear to God, it's at least as good as a lot of records I've paid $100 or more for!doomedplanet wrote:I just bought this a few weeks back and found it to be excellent metal. Maybe if we keep talking it up, we can inflate the price......
