Roar indeed. Incidentally, I have a cousin named Roar. He'd be a killer vocalist if he didn't have a stutter...

I remember seeing the flyer for the second Cadaver demo where Anders' street in the address was "Tomb". No house number, just Tomb!mordred wrote:Only in Norway can a cousin be named Roar and a village Hell or, my personal favorite - Röv! :D

I agree it is cool to see Vitus & 'Gram playing live again (i actually consider it the Bobbly Liebling Tribute to pentagram - sorry I rather see victor and joe) -- but -- DOOM is becoming "trendy" now...Why yes Plato wrote:Going to see Vitus with Wino play in Copenhagen on friday. Saw Pentagram here a few months ago. Times are truly strange and wonderus, never thought I'd live to see (or rather the bandmembers survive, haha) them play
-- Mr. Ginn at SST is "cashing" in on this - the "repress" of the old Vitus catalogue is proof of that -- hopefully Ginn is giving chandler some money... those vitus vinyls were "top sellers" at Omega Order for weeks...
Pentagram is 'Bobby's band'.EzraCobb wrote:I agree it is cool to see Vitus & 'Gram playing live again (i actually consider it the Bobbly Liebling Tribute to pentagram - sorry I rather see victor and joe) -- but -- DOOM is becoming "trendy" now....Why yes Plato wrote:Going to see Vitus with Wino play in Copenhagen on friday. What you mean is Bobby Liebling's tribute to Deathrow (which is Victor and Joe's band).

Just saw Pentagram play last wednesday and it was the worst concert I have seen in many years. They played about 5 songs which Bobby went on a harmonica jam and it was awful. He's lucky I held onto my bottle of beer.

This is at least the second time you've tried to 'correct' people by insisting Death Row has to be kept separate from Pentagram. Dude, get over it.Black Axe wrote:Pentagram is 'Bobby's band'.

First, PENTAGRAM currently plays songs from ALL eras of the band's existence. Since 'Wheel of Fortune' and 'Forever My Queen' are currently in the set list are you going to insist that the band is really just a tribute to Macabre, which is Vince, Greg and Geoff's band??
Second, Bobby was in Death Row. In fact I'm pretty sure that Bobby sang on every Death Row live performance and demo except the first instrumental basement jam session, and the band didn't even exist at that point (Joe was just visiting). So how is it that you claim Death Row was just "Victor and Joe's band"?
Third, Victor, Joe, and co. dropped the Death Row moniker in favor of using Pentagram about 26 years ago. Bobby wasn't the only member from a former Penta-lineup, and the band proceeded to use material from those older Penta-lineups alongside their new material. Thus, 'victor, joe and co.' are clearly part of the PENTAGRAM legacy.
Call it '80s era Pentagram' or 'the death row lineup' if you want/need to distinguish it from what Pentagram did before and since; that's legit. But until you dig up copies of 'Day of Reckoning' and 'Be Forewarned' with a DEATH ROW logo on the cover and Scott Reagers or Wino (or someone besides Bobby) doing all the vocals, quit insisting that Death Row is a distinct entity that has nothing to do with Bobby and Pentagram.
Russ- that sound really lame. THey were great when I saw 'em in Sept, and I went in ready to be severely disappointed. Most of the concert reviews from the last 6 months have been very positive. Sounds like you caught them on 'unplugged' night

I said that because the heavy doom metal that the band played from Death Row on was thanks to the Death Row men(mainly Victor Griffin), not because of Bobby. And since the songs the band play live are the doom metal versions, it's Bobby's tribute to Victor Griffin and Death Row.nightsblood wrote:Since 'Wheel of Fortune' and 'Forever My Queen' are currently in the set list are you going to insist that the band is really just a tribute to Macabre, which is Vince, Greg and Geoff's band??

Pentagram as it was, was just a heavy rock band. An the name of the band wasn't changed because the band wanted it, but because Bobby forced the name change on the debut album.
Actually, Russ(Strahan, the guitarist) 'quit' and he was just replaced by Johnny Wretched who has only learned a few of the songs yet, that's probably why they sucked.nightsblood wrote:Russ- that sound really lame.
