Just, I only have a few dozen at best myself. Is there anybody out there with big collections of compilation tapes who would be willing to help out?
Why not include LPs and CDs from the same period and style? It would be a good complement to the Corroseum comps-page, since we're not including the later, extreme stuff... (With a few 80's exceptions)
Hmm, partly because I don't want this 'project' (if I decide to do it) to grow over my head, and partly because CD's and LP's have better coverage on the internet. I'm not saying the information about them is easily available, but I can't think of one compilation in said genre and era where you can't find information about if you dig deep enough on the internet.
Compilation tapes on the other hand, the information about those is literally nihil. Take for example one of the more known tapes with quite a few 'big' bands: Blasphemous harmonies series from Greece. Try to find a tracklist on the internet: nothing.
I do not have any 80s/early 90s compilation tapes myself, but I have tons of fanzines with ads and flyers about such tapes.
Could be interesting. I also know of the existence of a lot of compilation tapes only through old adds...
Oooooh... Interesting. Not sure if I've ever heard about this one. I guess it's easily confused with "Attack From Downunda". Both samples really wet my appetite, esp RED ALERT.
Anyone here who owns the original vinyl?
I'd love to have a rip + cover-scans/photos so we can add it to the compilopedia
Cheers. Looks like your typical mixed bag of both gems & turds - I think I need to put this on the wantlist anyway. Has anyone ever seen a pricetag? Got no hits on popsike...

Funny... Such an obscure & unknown album but still dirt-cheap. It's Compilation-Album-Racism I tell ya!
I just ordered V/A A TASTE OF ARMAGEDDON LP (UK's Thrash Compilation) from 1989 and noticed that this LP is not mentioned here, nor on compillopedia.I think it's not rare at all, because I see copies for go for 4 / 6 USD.

Compiled by none other than Buster Bloodvessel of Bad Manners.

DaN,
if he wants to scan it, I can rip it since I've had this lp forever. let me know. I think you might have needed some other comp scanned from me, maybe something from Ebony? I'm sick and can't remember. Just let me know.

You want scans??
Great!
I guess I won't be needing scans until I have the music. If a rip turns up, then yes. I'll let you know...
I had Thunda from Downunda. Featuring famous Victorian bushranger Ned Kelly on the cover. Is there anyone from Australian folklore more metal?!
I gave my copy to a german mate as a gift as he really liked LIGNTNING ROCK. It features the great unreleased Sydney metal band GODSPEED (who's 2 tracks appear on the 1984 demo I uploaded previously along with others Poisonoise and now it all is for sale by the band here http://www.quarterpiperecords.com/Talen ... dspeed.htm), LIGHTNING ROCK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxFZr9nbsL8 and LOTUS.
Aside from those bands its pretty turdy. Ocker records have a bit of a pitch on the LP saying that they're going to release the very best in this and that, but nothing came of it. I'd like to track down the person responsible one day, I think he'd be a prime candidate source for unreleased gems from other bands.
