Equinox Ov The Gods

Post by Fucking Åmål »

Equinox Ov The Gods is my favourite band non 80's.Their first album Images From Forgotten Memories(1996) is to my mind perfect (How Much more?)doom/gothic metal that as i have said again it reminds me only Black Hole(i mean Equinox is at the same godly level). It has so dark atmosphere like you are in a cemetary at midnight.Their later albums i haven't heard(only some videoclips and random tracks) but they are at all not good in comparizon with their first album.Every time when i hear this band it comes to mind dark visions and hate to bands that they claim they play Evil Metal but in fact they Bark At The moon.I don't know if you like this band because it is weird. They have released four albums and they are without contract for some years(that's very commercial...).This band is weird as said too ''soft'' for blacksters, and non acceptable or if you like nothing to do with the kind that most collectors like(say that i-only-collect-us-metal-with-high-vocals-and-epic-lyrics :x ).

I listened to them quite a lot in the early to mid 90's when they were a demo band. The debut album was a slight disappointment on the production department but not bad at all. Never checked the second one ("Fruits and flowers of the spectral garden") out but I'd expect it to be similar in style as it has a few old demo song re-recorded. Maybe I should dig up the demos up, wipe the dust and give them another play after over 10 years.

mp3's can be found at their website http://www.equotg.com

I ordered the 1st (I think) demo from the band back in the days, but I don't think I played it much. If I remember correctly they used a drum machine back then and I can't stand drum machines in Metal

I'll check out the mp3's when I'm back home.

The last months i have steadily contact with Fredrik Wallin the man behind EQOTG.The next two albums that i don't have are soon to be arrived at my home. And i am anxiously awaiting for their new album also in Greek label Burning Star records.I asked him about their two first demos and he said that he will focus on good quality rips the next months.Anyone of you have uncovered their demos?Dan,Janne?Drum Machine is not the perfect solution but
how about you don't find a drummer to fit in the music you want to play?

Well, I'm surely open for giving them a second chance so maybe you could upload what you consider their best effort?

Their demos ruled! I was dissapointed with 1996 album. I still have their original demo and some recordings that Frederik taped me in 1994. Great stuff!
